    摘要: A contact lithography apparatus and a method use one or both of spacers and a mesa to facilitate pattern transfer. The apparatus and the method include one or both of a spacer that provides a spaced apart orientation of lithographic elements, such as a patterning tool and a substrate, when in mutual contact with the spacer and a mesa between the patterning tool and the substrate. The mesa supports a contact surface of one or both of the mold and the substrate. One or both of the spacers and the mesa may be non-uniform. One or more of the patterning tool, the substrate and the spacer is deformable, such that deformation thereof facilitates the pattern transfer.

    摘要: Various embodiments of the present invention are directed to photonic interconnection architectures that provide high-speed interconnections of microscale or nanoscale devices. In one embodiment of the present invention, a photonic interconnection for interconnecting and synchronizing operation of components within a computing device comprises an optical transmission path for transmitting a number of independent frequency channels within an optical signal provided by an optical signal source. The photonic crystal may include one or more filters located near the waveguide for extracting specific frequency channels transmitted by the waveguide, the frequency channel including one or more frequency channels carrying a clock signal. One or more photodetectors positioned near the one or more filters convert the extracted frequency channels into electrical signals for use by one or more components of the computing device, the electrical signals including one or more clock signals for synchronizing operation of the one or more components.

    摘要: Devices and methods for detecting the constituent parts of biological polymers are disclosed. A molecular analysis device comprises a molecule sensor and a molecule guide. The molecule sensor comprises a single electron transistor including a first terminal, a second terminal, and a nanogap or at least one quantum dot positioned between the first terminal and the second terminal. A nitrogenous material disposed on the at least one quantum dot is configured for an interaction with an identifiable configuration of a molecule. The molecule sensor develops an electronic effect responsive to the interaction. The molecule guide is configured for guiding at least a portion of the molecule substantially near the molecule sensor to enable the interaction.
