    摘要: A magnetic recording medium and a process for producing a magnetic recording medium are disclosed, the process comprising the steps of applying onto a non-magnetic base a composition comprising (1) a compound having an unsaturated bond polymerizable by electron beams, (2) at least one polymer, (3) ferromagnetic particles, and (4) an organic solvent, and then polymerizing and curing the resulting magnetic layer by irradiation with electron beams, said polymer being such that at least 10% thereof is adsorbed on the ferromagnetic particles in a mixture of 10 parts by weight of a 1 wt % solution of the polymer and 1 part by weight of the ferromagnetic particles.

    摘要: A magnetic recording material and a process for producing it are disclosed. The material is excellent in abrasion resistance and has good electric characteristics. The material is obtained by coating on a support a subbing layer having a compound which contains a compound having an unsaturated bond polymerizable upon irradiation with electron beams. Upon the subbing layer is coated a ferromagnetic layer which contains a compound having an unsaturated bond polymerizable upon irradiation with electron beams, an organic solvent capable of dissolving the compound, and a ferromagnetic fine powder. The material is then subjected to an electron-beam irradiating processing to result in the hardening of the subbing and ferromagnetic layers through polymerization.

    摘要: A process for producing a magnetic recording material having excellent electromagnetic characteristics and sufficient abrasion resistance is disclosed. The process comprises the steps of coating on a support a magnetic recording composition containing a compound having an unsaturated bond polymerizable by irradiation with electron beams, an organic solvent capable of dissolving the compound and a ferromagnetic powder. The compound is subjected in sequence to a coating process on a nonmagnetic support, irradiated with an electron beam in an atmosphere containing oxygen at a concentration of 10,000 ppm or more and subjected to a smoothening treatment utilizing a specular surface, followed by an electron beam irradiation in an atmosphere containing oxygen at a concentration of 3,000 ppm or less.

    摘要: In a binder for a magnetic recording medium for forming a magnetic layer with ferromagnetic powder dispersed therein being arranged on a non-magnetic support member, whereby said binder consists of a polyurethane resin, which is a reaction product of diol and organic diisocyanate as principal materials, said polyurethane resin contains a short-chain diol having cyclic structure by 17 to 40 weight %, and said polyurethane resin contains a long-chain diol comprising 1.0 to 5.0 mmol/g of ether group to total urethane resin by 10 to 50 weight %. According to a binder for a magnetic recording medium and a magnetic recording medium using said binder of the present invention, good dispersion property, high running durability and preservation property can be obtained.
