摘要: A communication device communicates with another communication device via an information managing device. The communication device includes a transmitter unit, a storage unit, and a control unit. The transmitter unit transmits presence information to the other communication device via the information managing device. The storage unit stores a program. If the communication device executes the program, the control unit judges whether the presence information currently registered needs to be changed based on executing the program. If the control unit judges that the presence information currently registered needs to be changed, the control unit changes the presence information based on executing the program. The control unit controls the transmitter unit to transmit the changed presence information as updated presence information to the other communication device via the information managing device.

摘要: An electronic device which allows an entry of a character string has a display which indicates an entered character, a toggle key adapted for entering a plurality of assigned characters, a shift key adapted for shifting a character entry position on the display, and a controller which allows consecutive first to third operations. The controller is adapted for entering one of the assigned characters at a first position on the display as the first operation. The controller is adapted for shifting the character entry position from the first position to a second position on the display as the second operation. The controller is adapted for displaying one of the assigned characters at the second position on the display as the third operation. The controller is adapted for allowing consecutive two of the first to third operations by means of either one of the toggle key and the shift key.

摘要: The present invention discloses a novel combination for low cost, stand alone video cameras with surveillance features. In the embodiments, the camera body can be manufactured utilizing inexpensive materials such as press molded plastic, the view finder can be a simple through-hole without a lens, simple indicator lights and buttons can be utilized for programming and status functions, and a removable memory card can be used as primary storage. The video camera can operate on one or more batteries or external power. The video camera can be embedded with surveillance functions offering a variety of programming modes for operating as a security camera. By providing only essential features and features that can be manufactured at low cost, the overall cost of the resulting camera can be kept very low.

摘要: The present invention is directed to novel optical sensors and novel methods for sensing optical radiation. The novel optical sensors and the novel optical sensing methods are used, for example, for controlling the operation of automatic faucets and flushers. The novel sensors and flow controllers (including control electronics and valves) require only small amounts of electrical power for sensing users of bathroom facilities, and thus enable battery operation for many years. A passive optical sensor includes a light detector sensitive to ambient (room) light for controlling the operation of automatic faucets or automatic bathroom flushers.

摘要: System, method and computer program product for estimating the cost of a product and/or service. The product and/or service comprises a multiplicity of components. One or more first components with no cost dependencies are determined and assigned to a first tier. One or more second components whose costs depend on the costs of the one or more first components are determined and assigned to a second tier. One or more third components whose costs depend on the one or more second components are determined and assigned to a third tier. A determination is made if any of the one or more third components were assigned to said second tier, and if so, such one or more third components are removed from the second tier. One or more fourth components whose costs depend on the one or more third components are determined and assigned to a fourth tier. A determination is made if any of the one or more fourth components were assigned to the third tier, and if so, such one or more fourth components are removed from the third tier. A determination is made if one or more of the fourth components were assigned to said second tier, and if so, such one or more fourth components are removed from the second tier. An order to calculate costs of the components is based on the tier to which they are assigned, the lower the tier the earlier in the order.

摘要: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for detecting a red eye in an image. The method comprises steps of: calculating a skin color reference vector for said image; identifying a candidate for red eye region in said image; identifying skin color pixels in said candidate for red eye region; removing skin color pixels from said candidate for red eye region; deciding whether said candidate for red eye region is a red eye or not. The present invention also provides a method and apparatus for detecting a human face in an image. Moreover, the present invention provides corresponding storage medium including instructions for causing a processor to implement the methods. According to the present invention, red eyes and/or human faces can be detected with consideration of skin color pixels. The speed and accuracy of detecting red eyes and human faces are greatly increased.
