Abstract: The present invention is an ammunition magazine, preferably made of a reinforced polymer, utilizing a structurally enhancing ridge, angular guide rails and a follower made to interface with said guide rails to reduce wobble. The preferred embodiment also features a protective cover that distributes forces from the spring to more structurally sound areas of the magazine, thus reducing feed end splay, and an ammunition indication system comprised of at least one window and a noticeable marker on the follower spring. The follower and magazine casing are also designed to interface to prevent the follower from popping out of the feed end and the floor plate of the magazine utilizes a locking plate and sliding relationship between the floor plate, locking plate and magazine to secure the floor plate onto the magazine casing. The cover features built in tools for, among other things, unloading and disassembling the magazine.

Abstract: A system and method for using a firearm magazine are described. One example includes a firearm magazine assembly. The assembly has a housing defining a cartridge track, the housing having a distal end having feed lips for feeding cartridges to a firearm and a proximal end. The assembly also has a follower assembly having a follower and a spring. The follower has a proximal side and a distal side and is movable between a compressed position and an extended position. The follower engages the housing in the extended position without biasing the feed lips away from each other, whereby the follower prevents creep of the distal end of the housing when the follower is in the extended position.

Abstract: An anti-rotational quick disconnect socket system for a firearm is disclosed. The system has an anti-rotational quick disconnect socket (QD socket) and a recess in a housing of a firearm. The recess is shaped to slidingly receive and seat the socket, and has a protrusion extending inwardly from the outer confines of the recess. The socket has a proximal end with a socket entry, a distal end, and a brace extending therebetween. The protrusion is engaged with the first brace to prevent rotation of the socket relative to the recess. The system has a gap between a proximal surface of the first protrusion and a distal surface of the socket entry.

Abstract: A lockable snap-clip fastener (10) has two spring-biased jaw members (12, 14) and a slidable locking bar (16). The same spring (13) that biases the jaws (12, 14) holds the locking bar (16) in either an open or a closed position with one of its arms. Since the bar (16) is held in either the locked or unlocked position, it is more secure and must be positively actuated in order to transition from one configuration to the other.
