To provide a display which can improve viewing angle dependency of a contrast ratio at least in a specific azimuth without design change of a basic structure of a display element, limitation to white display state or black display state, and deterioration in display quality in other directions. The above-mentioned display is a display comprising: a display element with a contrast ratio dependent on a viewing angle; and an anisotropic scattering film having an anisotropic scattering layer, wherein the anisotropic scattering film is located on a viewing screen side of the display element and has a scattering central axis in substantially the same azimuth as an azimuth in which a contrast ratio of the display element in a direction inclined by a certain angle from a normal direction of a viewing screen of the display element has an extreme value.

An optical fiber coil and a production method therefor reduce the likelihood of optical transmission loss due to stress or temperature changes at low cost. Plural single optical fibers are arranged in parallel and are integrally covered with a covering portion so as to form an optical fiber ribbon, and the optical fiber ribbon is wound into a coiled state.
Abstract:
Optical connecting parts and an optical connecting structure are provided. A large area is not occupied on the substrate, position aligning is easier, it takes less time to connect, and connecting and releasing can be freely performed. Optical connecting parts which connect an optical transmission medium and optical functional part or another optical transmission medium vertically, has a connecting member having a convex part and a connecting member having a concave part, the connecting member having the convex part has a holding part of which the optical transmission medium is aligned and held, the connecting member having the concave part has an aligning part of which the optical functional part or other optical transmission medium is aligned, and the connecting member having the convex part and the connecting member having the concave part can be freely connected and disconnected by engaging the convex part and the concave part.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a process for producing an optical connector, an apparatus for producing the same, and a process for forming a polymer coating film on an end face of a fibrous dielectric, which can dispose a refractive index adjuster only onto an end face of an optical transmitting medium with excellent reproducibility. Such a process includes bringing an end surface of the optical transmitting medium close to an end face of a liquid refractive index adjuster, while charging at least one of the optical transmitting medium and the liquid refractive index adjuster, thereby adhering the liquid refractive index adjuster to the end face of the optical transmitting medium, and thereafter solidifying the adhered liquid refractive index adjuster to obtain the refractive index adjuster.

An electrostatic chuck device is provided in which the occurrence of cracking in a ceramic layer, the cracking being caused by a difference in thermal expansion between a substrate and a sleeve due to heat generated during formation of the ceramic layer, is suppressed. The electrostatic chuck device includes a substrate, a laminated body that is laminated on the substrate and that includes at least an internal electrode, and a ceramic layer that is laminated on the upper surface of the laminated body in the thickness direction. The electrostatic chuck device is such that the substrate has a through-hole provided so as to pass through in the thickness direction, a sleeve formed from an insulating material is inserted into the through-hole, and the sleeve is joined to the through-hole via a joining means at an upper portion of the substrate in the thickness direction.
