Abstract: A bending machine for bending workpieces is disclosed. The bending machine includes a lower beam and an upper beam for forming a workpiece by bending along a bending line. A tool holder for receiving bending tools is provided on the lower beam and each end of the tool holder is associated with a recessed region which is formed in the lower beam overlapping with the respective end. The lower beam includes a central element and at least one side element arranged adjacent to one another in the thickness direction of the lower beam. Recessed regions are provided in the central element and/or in the width direction adjacent to the central element. The lower beam also includes a central region in which, during a bending operation of a workpiece, a force is introduced via the tool holder both into the central element and into the at least one side element.

Abstract: Two press brake machines each using a single, central hydraulic actuator are provided. The press brake machines are configured to operate separately or in tandem, depending upon a size of a sheet metal workpiece to be deformed. A locking device that may include an upper connecting block and a lower connecting block is provided on each of the at least two press brake machines to allow the machines to interlock when the machines are adjacent to one another and are operating in tandem. The upper connecting block may be “L” shaped to help provide the interlocking. Interlocking of the press brake machines during tandem operation helps prevent distortion that can occur in the upper and lower portions of the ram due to the press brake machine's use of a single, central hydraulic actuator.

Abstract: A press machine includes a lifting mechanism that selectively lowers and lifts a die on a movable side. The lifting mechanism includes a motor driven lifting unit using a servomotor as a drive source thereof, and a hydraulically driven lifting unit using a hydraulic actuator as a drive source thereof.
