摘要： A machine for compacting a row of vehicle tires is provided in which the tires are compressed between a fixed and a movable compactor plate with the movable plate being actuated by an hydraulic cylinder. A safety mandrel is inserted through the center of the tires and locked in engagement with the movable compactor plate so that the tires to be compacted cannot be misaligned or ejected from the machine during the compaction process. Four tie wires are provided for each bundle which are fed through slots and wire guides through the center of the tires and hooked about the outside to hold the tires in the compressed condition after the hydraulic pressure is released. The length of the compressed bundle is set by adjusting the position of the compacting cylinder relative to the fixed compactor plate. Movable cylinder support means are provided to prevent misalignment of the cylinder and piston rod at the extreme limits of the extended stroke of the system.

摘要： A screw press wherein slides carrying stamping tools are arranged on the frame coaxially with one another for reciprocation in opposite directions and connected to nuts cooperating with motion screws mounted on the frame, provided with flywheels and having right-hand and left-hand threads. A stamping die is arranged on the frame between the slides in such a manner that the splitting plane thereof is aligned with the stamping axis, one die is fixed to the frame and the other die is secured to a slide which is mounted in guides extending in the frame perpendicularly to the stamping axis, and there is provided a mechanism for clamping the dies during stamping. The motion screws are mounted in the frame for axial reciprocation during stamping. The press according to the invention is preferably used for stamping blanks of parts having asymmetrical distribution of metal mass lengthwise of the blank, such as turbine blades, compressor vanes and the like.

The lifting mechanism includes a motor driven lifting unit using a servomotor as a drive source thereof, and a hydraulically driven lifting unit using a hydraulic actuator as a drive source thereof. The lifting mechanism is controlled so as to enable the motor driven lifting unit to move the die on the movable side from a standby position to a drive system changeover position immediately before a press start position at which the die on the movable side starts contacting a workpiece to be processed and so as to enable the hydraulically driven lifting unit to move the die on the movable side from the drive system changeover position to a top dead center position.

The three dimensional shaped object generally has a greater length and width than the dimension to be pressed, and is, for example, a laminate. The press comprises (a) a first horizontal pressing plate and a second horizontal pressing plate facing each other with a nip therebetween; (b) a flexible hollow member disposed against the first horizontal pressing plate on the side opposite the nip, said flexible hollow member being a part of a closed system containing a pressure medium and a mechanism for regulating the pressure of the pressure medium; and (c) an inflexible support behind the flexible hollow member, whereby upon a change of the pressure of the pressure medium, said first horizontal pressing plate is caused to move relative to the second pressing plate.

摘要： Compaction apparatus in which a material receiver chamber and a container are supported upon a carriage which tilts out of a cabinet to permit material to be inserted into the receiver chamber and which returns to a rest position within the cabinet for the compaction operation. Hydraulic rams pull a cylindrical compaction blade downwardly through the access opening of the receiver chamber, and the initial movement of the blade locks the carriage in its rest position. A carriage door permits the removal of the loaded container, and a latch holds the carriage in its rest position when the container is removed. A system of electrical interlocks ensures safe operation.
