Abstract:
A side bearing for freight bogies of railway transport comprising a base, a plate, a cap, and a resilient element. The base has an annular protruding element, a centering protruding element, and two lateral protruding elements. The lateral protruding elements have J-shaped recesses. The plate has an annular protruding element with lugs, and an aperture for receiving the cap. The cap has an annular protruding element and a centering protruding element. A central opening is provided in the body of the resilient element for positioning on the protruding elements of the base and cap. The annular protruding element of the plate is telescopically mounted inside the annular protruding element of the base, and the cap is mounted inside the aperture of the plate. The lugs of the annular protruding element snap into the J-shaped recesses of the lateral protruding elements.
Abstract:
An adapter pad system including a roller bearing adapter and a roller bearing adapter pad for placement between a roller bearing and side frame pedestal roof of a three-piece railcar truck.
Abstract:
A railroad car constant contact side bearing assembly including a housing, a top cap arranged for vertical reciprocatory movements relative to the housing, and a spring accommodated in a spring cavity defined by the housing and cap for resiliently urging the top cap into frictional sliding engagement with an underside of a railcar body. At least one of the side bearing housing and cap is formed from a high performance plastic material whereby enhancing the vertical reciprocity of the cap relative to the housing.
Abstract:
A lower side bearing for a wheel truck, including: a first friction board, a second friction board, an inner pedestal, a bearing sleeve sleeving the inner pedestal, a pressure block, a pressure plate, and an elastic component. The pressure block is disposed on an upper part of the inner pedestal, and the second friction board is disposed on a top of the pressure block. The pressure plate is disposed on an upper part of the bearing sleeve, and the first friction board is disposed on a top of the pressure plate. A friction coefficient μk of the first friction board and a friction coefficient μz of the second friction board meet the relation: μk>μz. The elastic component is disposed between the inner pedestal and the bearing sleeve for controlling a relative position of the inner pedestal and the bearing sleeve.
Abstract:
A constant contact side bearing assembly for a railcar includes a housing having a base, a pair of mounting apertures formed through a thickness of the base, a generally cylindrical housing wall upstanding on the base, a pair of diametrically opposed channels, a pair of diametrically opposed openings and a guide member disposed centrally on and upstanding from an inner surface of the base. A cap is disposed for reciprocal axial movement relative to the housing. An elastomeric spring is disposed within a generally closed chamber formed by a combination of the housing and the cap. A pair of air passages is provided for dissipating heat generated during operation of the constant contact side bearing assembly. Each air passage is defined by a pair of aligned openings formed through a wall portion of the cap. Each opening may be disposed within a pocket provided within the cap wall.
Abstract:
A railroad car energy absorption apparatus is disclosed. The railroad car energy absorption apparatus includes a spring assembly having an elastomer spring element arranged in operable combination with structure for inhibiting localized heat deterioration of the elastomer spring element.
Abstract:
A wheel truck for a railroad car, including: a front wheel pair assembly and a rear wheel pair assembly; two side frame assemblies, each side frame assembly including a square box and journal-box guides; two spring suspension devices; and a bolster assembly including two ends disposed on the two spring suspension devices, respectively. The bolster assembly includes a pilot hole in the center and two mounting holes on the two ends, the pilot hole is rotationally matched with a cylindrical upper center plate of a car body for transmitting vertical and horizontal forces from the car body, and the two mounting holes are disposed above the two spring suspension devices, respectively. Each mounting hole receives a lower side bearing, and the lower side bearing is matched with a corresponding upper side bearing disposed on each side of the car body for transmitting the vertical load from the car body.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a rubber stopper that can set a shape suitable for mounting and set a desired stopper characteristic. Specifically, a holding fitting 3 fastened to one member by means of bolting is provided. A rubber section 4 that abuts against the other member is held by the holding fitting 3. The holding fitting 3 has a partition wall 8 to divide between a peripheral edge of a bolt hole 7 and a holding section 9 that holds the rubber section 4. A rubber side abutment surface 12 in the rubber section 4 protrudes from a top of the partition wall 8. A bored section 13 is formed near the partition wall 8 of the rubber section 4. The bored section 13 increases durability of the rubber section 4. A size of the rubber stopper 1 is reduced.
Abstract:
An improved side bearing for railway cars is provided that achieves improved tracking and curving by the limitation of rock of the railway car. The side bearing comprises a base with a generally upwardly extending wall portion. A cap comprising a top section with generally downwardly extending wall portion is provided. The cap extends into or around the wall section of the base. A spring is provided within the base that extends to the underside and supports the cap. A base insert is provided of varying thickness to support springs of the same preselected height to provide preselected varying load capacities.
