Abstract:
A pneumatic tire which is provided radially outside a carcass (6) with a belt (9) made of cords (10) embedded in topping rubber, each of the belt cords comprises four steel monofilaments (12A and 12B) including one or two waved steel monofilaments (12A) and unwaved steel monofilaments (12B), the four steel monofilaments having the same diameters are compactly twisted together so as to make alternate contact portions and non-contact portions (P) with a gap (T) between at least one waved steel monofilament and the adjacent steel monofilaments, and the four steel monofilaments have the same diameter (d) of 0.2 to 0.35 mm.
Abstract:
A tire steel cord formed of more than three strands twisted together, at least one of the strands being marked so as to formed therein with zig-zagging marked parts which form gaps between strands, rubber accordingly immersing the steel cord into its center part through the thus formed gaps so as to fill in a cavity in the center part of the steel cord.
Abstract:
A reinforcing cord for elastomeric products is produced by feeding a plurality of single metal wires of the same diameter into a set of successively arranged stranding points. At least two wires are fed into the first stranding point and through the subsequent stranding points. Additional wires are fed into the respective subsequent stranding points. The quantity of wires fed to the stranding points is determined by the number of valleys which are present in the peripheral contour of the processed strand at this particular stranding point. In this manner each additional wire is brought in contact with at least two preceding wires in the processed strand.
