Abstract: An apparatus comprises a base plate configured to be coupled to a door, the door configured to be positioned in an open position and a closed position; a closing mechanism coupled to the base plate and configured to be coupled to a hinge of the door and having an unprimed state and a primed state, the closing mechanism configured to be transitioned between the unprimed state and the primed state by a user; wherein in the unprimed state the closing mechanism is decoupled from operation of the door; and in the primed state the closing mechanism is configured to move the door into the closed position responsive to receipt of a signal, and the closing mechanism is configured to allow movement of the door between the open position and the closed position in absence of the signal.

Abstract: A spring winding device, a counterbalancing force adjustment device for a counterbalancing mechanism, and a method of adjusting an amount of force stored in a spring of a counterbalancing mechanism are provided. The spring winding device includes a support bracket, a worm gear, and a drive gear. The worm gear is rotatably coupled to the support bracket and includes a mount portion for coupling a first end cone thereto. The drive gear is rotatably disposed adjacent the support bracket and is drivingly engaged with the worm gear. A rotation of the drive gear causes the worm gear to rotate within the support bracket. The spring winding device does not require pretensioning using winding rods, maintains rigidity and alignment when a counterbalancing force is applied, and decreases a cost and a complexity of the counterbalancing mechanism.

Abstract: A piece of furniture has an actuating arrangement for a flap of the piece of furniture. An actuating arm arrangement includes a lever arrangement for moving the flap and a main spring that acts in the closing direction (SR) to hold the flap closed. Abstract: A swing leaf operator having a closer portion. The closer portion has an output shaft, on which a cam disc is torsion-resistantly disposed, as well as a pressure roller. A closer spring presses the pressure roller against a running surface of the cam disc. The pressure roller is disposed such that, during an opening or closing of a swing leaf coupled to the output shaft, the pressure roller is moved along a path. The path bypasses the axial center of the output shaft and on account of the configuration of the running surface of the cam disc, in different modes of operation of the swing leaf operator at a respective opening angle of the swing leaf, a very similar or identical torque is respectively applied to the output shaft. The swing leaf operator has a drive motor in operational connection with the output shaft.
