    摘要: A system and method for providing a gas-fired heating system with improved thermal efficiency includes modulating a quantity of combustion air flow to a combustion mixture in response to a measured change in fuel-gas pressure using a DC (e.g., brushless) motor to drive a combustion air blower. A pressure transducer in a manifold transporting fuel-gas into the combustion mixture outputs a signal proportional to the measured pressure to the motor. The motor speed and thus the resultant quantity of combustion air flow are modulated in proportion to the quantity of fuel-gas to the mixture. Accordingly, a constant fuel-gas to combustion air ratio is maintained. The system and method may further provide for adjusting the output signal to accommodate measured intake air temperature, and/or measured atmospheric pressure in order to maintain a constant, good thermal efficiency (preferably ≦80%) regardless of air temperature and altitude at the system's installation location.

    摘要: An apparatus is provided for controlling a fuel fired heating appliance, the apparatus comprising a first processor for controlling the ignition operation of the furnace and a second processor for controlling the operation of a variable speed blower motor, wherein the first processor sends communication signals to the second processor requesting a desired speed of the blower motor to provide air flow for combustion. The second processor responsively sends a signal to the first processor indicating the receipt of the requested speed for the blower motor. The apparatus further comprises at least one pressure switch, where the first processor senses an opening of the pressure switch and responds by successively sending incrementally higher speed request signals to the second processor until the first processor detects the closing of the at least one pressure switch.

The gas burner includes a burner body burned by a mixture gas of gas fuel and air, a gas supplying valve supplying the gas fuel to the burner body through a gas supplying tube connected with the burner body, an air supplying fan supplying the air to the burner body through an air supplying tube connected with the burner body, and a control part controlling air flow supplied to the burner body by controlling revolution per minute (RPM) of the air supplying fan. Since an optimal air-fuel ratio can be maintained by controlling the RPM of the air supplying fan, combustion efficiency can be increased. Since a temperature of a glass can be maintained properly, life span of the gas burner can be increased and its stable use is possible.

Then, an adiabatic flame temperature in a combustion chamber is determined based on at least the determined flow rate of the fuel and it is determined whether a selected one of combustion modes including premixed combustion and diffusive combustion is to be switched to other based on the determined adiabatic flame temperature and the detected air temperature and the selected combustion mode is controlled to switch to the other in response to a result of determination. With this, it becomes possible to achieve switchover to the stabler combustion mode and realize better low emission performance by utilizing the premixed combustion range.

    摘要: A pressure proving gas valve insures safe and efficient operation of a fuel-burning appliance by monitoring combustion air pressure and appropriately controlling the valve based upon this air pressure. An air pressure sensor is incorporated into a pressure proving valve housing itself thus providing integrated solution for the control of the combustion process. Consequently, when heat is called for, no fuel is provided to the combustion chamber unless appropriate combustion air pressure is sensed. Further, by monitoring the actual air pressure, additional control capability is provided. That is, a variable speed blower associated with the combustion apparatus can be controlled to provide very precise fuel to air mixtures.
