    摘要: An improved heater wire and electro-thermal controller suitable for use in electric heating appliances such as electric blankets and heating pads. The heater wire is formed with a first conductor for heat generation and a second conductor for sensing. The first conductor and second conductor are wound as coaxial spirals with an insulation material electrically isolating the two conductors. The two spirals are counter-wound with respect to one another to insure that the turns cross, albeit on separate planes, several times per inch. With the conductors thus formed, if the insulation separating the conductors fails, the first and second conductors will come into electrical contact to facilitate detection of this hazardous condition. The controller of the present invention includes an electronic control unit a sensor input circuit, a heater driver circuit and a user interface circuit. The heater driver circuit is operatively coupled to the first conductor and provides a heater voltage in response to a signal received from the electronic control unit. The sensor input circuit is operatively coupled to the second conductor, measures a resistance and voltage associated therewith, and provides a signal to the electronic control unit in response thereto. The electronic control unit is responsive to signals received from both the user interface circuit and sensor wire input circuit and controls the heater driver circuit accordingly.

The central processing unit will keep on checking the control circuit and, once the temperature of the iron is sensed to be unstable or abnormal, the light emitting diodes will indicate trouble and power will be cut off to protect the control circuit board.

    摘要: A sensor probe and sensor detection circuit used in an electronic temperature control circuit for preventing the control circuit from driving an external device such as a heater when the sensor probe has been disconnected from the control circuit. The sensor probe includes an NTC thermistor and a limiting resistor that are connected in parallel and potted in epoxy. The thermistor and limiting resistor of the sensor probe form part of a lower leg of a voltage divider in the control circuit. The sensor detection circuit compares the voltage signal generated by the sensor voltage divider to a predetermined threshold or ceiling voltage value. During normal operation, when the sensor probe is attached to the control circuit, the resistance of the sensor probe insures that the voltage signal from the sensor voltage divider remains within a predetermined voltage range and does not exceed the predetermined ceiling voltage value. When the sensor probe is disconnected from the control circuit, the resistance of the sensor voltage divider is decreased and the voltage signal exceeds the ceiling voltage value. When the voltage signal exceeds the ceiling voltage value, the sensor detection circuit interrupts the normal operation of the control circuit and shuts down the heater.

The external unit includes an external heat exchanger. The control device also has a room temperature sensor disposed in the room for detecting room temperature. The thermistor is tentatively energizing in order to detect temperature of the inner heat exchanger when a predetermined period of non-air conditioning operation has elapsed. Both detected temperatures in the non-air conditioning operation period are compared with each other. Malfunction of the thermistor or the room sensor is detected when the difference between two temperatures exceeds a predetermined value.

    摘要: Thermistors are calibrated by taking three thermistor resistance measurements at various temperatures. The resistance values are converted or transferred to Analog to Digital (A/D) bits or bit values which the machine's microprocessor can relate to temperature. The three values are utilized for constructing a calibration curve in the microprocessor for a specific thermistor bead. Use of the curve allows for mathematical interpolation by the microprocessor between calibration points, providing a wider and more accurate range to set the fuser roll temperatures. This increased accuracy over a wider range than before allows the sensor to become a common part for a family of products which may require different standby and runtime temperatures.

    摘要: A temperature sensor assembly is used for an automatic baking machine which includes an oven and a container disposed within the oven so as to bake bread therein. The oven has a heat device mounted therein so as to heat the container. The temperature sensor assembly includes a shell member, a sensor element, a bias unit, and a housing member. The shell member is attached to the inner wall of the oven and has a heat transfer portion near the container. The heat transfer portion is made of a material which permits heat to transfer therethrough. The sensor element contacts the heat transfer portion of the shell member so as to detect a temperature of the heat transfer portion, and has a pair of conducting legs respectively adapted to be connected electrically to two conducting wires of the heat device so as to signal and actuate the heat device to heat the container when the temperature of the heat transfer portion is below a predetermined temperature. The bias unit biases the sensor element to press against the heat transfer portion of the shell member. The housing member is coupled with the shell member so as to retain the bias unit therebetween and is attached to the inner wall of the oven so as to position the temperature sensor assembly on the oven.
