Abstract:
A personal control unit (PCU) for a transportation-based entertainment system comprises a number of buttons. Illumination is provided for the buttons by illuminating a border region that is rounded containing some of the keys, and is provided for some of the buttons themselves. A light diffusion mechanism is provided between the illumination source and the illuminated regions related to the keys so that the illumination appears even across the entire PCU. A controller may adjust the illumination level and color of the illumination source. A system may be provided for matching at least one of color and brightness of the PCU lighting with cabin lighting.

Accessories such as headsets for electronic devices are provided. A headset may be provided with a button controller assembly that has user-actuated buttons. The button controller assembly may be formed of housing portions that float with respect to each other. Plastic engagement structures may limit the amount of unimpeded travel that is exhibited by the housing portions. The housing portions may be formed from first and second housings. A rigid frame may be mounted within the second housing. The first housing may flex along its length when the user squeezes the first and second housings together to actuate a desired button. Housings may be formed as double-shot plastic parts having first and second plastics with different properties. Integrated circuits and a microphone may be mounted within the button controller assembly. A nonoperational microphone port may be provided as a visual indicator that the button controller contains a microphone.

Methods, apparatus and systems which provide buttons oriented at angles relative to each other as a part of a multiple function switch are disclosed. In one embodiment, the multiple function switch is part of an inline controller that is suitable for use to control features or functions of a portable electronic device.

This invention is a remote drill switch actuator assembly that will connect the switch of the cordless drill to the handle of the torque multiplying transmission device. The concept of this invention is used on a power transmission device for connecting a standard cordless battery operated drill to an ice auger. Ice augers are utilized by fisherman in the winter to drill holes in ice on frozen lakes. To the best of my knowledge there are no other patents that use a cable and lever assembly to actuate a switch on a cordless drill.

A power-source switch box with a stabilizer, it mainly has a control circuit board in its main body; the control circuit board is provided thereon with a stabilizer and a switch of a power source, the two ends of it are connected with lines respectively at an output terminal and an input terminal of the power source, by turning on/off of the switch of the power source on the main body, the power source provides stable power through the stabilizer for a lamp. When the power source is turned off, the power is cut and renders the stabilizer and the lamp to stop working; thereby the situation that the stabilizer continues to work after the lamp is not in use can be avoided, and thereby the life of use of the lamp can be largely increased.

A safety switch for controlling electric current between a plug and an appliance comprises generally an upper casing and a lower casing, a pair of copper conduct plates and a swivel disk member rotatably disposed into the casings. The improvement is characterized in that the pair of copper conduct plates each has a pair of staggered tip points pierced into a electrical cord having their flat portions parallel to the longitudinal axis of the cords. So that the tip points will not cut off the wires but stably engage with and grip a certain amount of the wires inside the cord in order to ensure an eligible conductivity of the electricity between the plug and the appliance.

A three-way switch is composed of a base, an amature member, at least three conductive pieces, and a diode. The base is provided with a receiving space for housing the amature member, the conductive pieces, and the diode. The amature member is fastened with a bridging conductive member such that the armature member is provided with a plurality of bridging portions and an insulation portion, which are in contact with the contact ends of the conductive pieces. The first and the third conductive pieces bring about a power input while the second conductive piece brings about a power output. The diode is connected with the first and the third conductive pieces.
Abstract:
An electrical switch comprises a pair of spaced terminals, fixed in an insulating housing; a metal roller; and, a finger-piece for moving the roller between first and second switching positions engaging only one and both terminals respectively. The one terminal is resiliently flexed to bias the roller against the second terminal in the second switching position. The one terminal comprises a cantilever spring having an upset end protruding into the roller path and providing the fulcrum for an overcenter action biassing the roller in either switching position.
