Abstract:
This invention saves a sensed image in a printer in an environment in which a digital camera can directly communicate with a printer, and a sensed image can be directly printed. A printer (1000) and digital camera (DSC) can be directly connected to each other via a USB interface. Upon this direct connection, the digital camera and printer serve as a print system, and the DSC serves as a user interface in that system. When the user inputs a print instruction of a desired image on the DSC, a print process of that image is executed. When the user inputs a save instruction of a given image, that image is saved in a storage device in the printer. Even when the image is erased on the DSC side, original image data can be prevented from being lost.
Abstract:
When different types of image storage apparatus such as an image sensing apparatus and an external image processing apparatus such as a printer are connected, in order to eliminate an operation error by an operator, cumbersome operation, and so forth by enabling to automatically perform optimum direct signal processing, whether control relation between the image storage apparatus and the external image processing apparatus is a first type in which a memory in the image storage apparatus is accessed directly from the external image processing apparatus, or a second type in which processing in the external image processing apparatus can be controlled by a controller of the image storage apparatus is determined in initial communication when the image storage apparatus is connected to the external image processing apparatus, and a processing procedure for processing an image in the image storage apparatus by the external image processing apparatus is changed based on the result of the determination.
Abstract:
Digital camera is connected to personal computer via communication cable. When a user operates a key to delete any one of images recorded on memory card of the digital camera, digital camera requests personal computer to delete an image which links to the deleted image and is stored in personal computer. When receiving this command, personal computer deletes the image linked to the image deleted from digital camera. These processes ensure consistency between an original image stored in the digital camera and a copy image stored in the personal computer.
Abstract:
With a digital camera 100, a photographed image 31 is displayed on a liquid crystal display and the user selects a desired image and specifies print specifications of the number of print sheets, a print paper size, a print color mode, etc., then print image data is prepared. The prepared print image data is transmitted from the digital camera 100 to a color printer of an output unit. An image is printed at the color printer in accordance with the print image data.

Abstract:
An apparatus and method for directly making a computer system that couples with a scanner to connect with an associated web site and for further uploading scanned images by means of one touch action from the scanner is disclosed. Individual may give command in scanner side via one touch action to make the computer system coupled with the scanner to connect with associated web sites. Individual may upload derived scanned images to the connected web sites by means of one touch action in the scanner. Additionally, individual may assign web sites, or confirm/vary URLs of the web sites before uploading the scanned images.
Abstract:
A camera which records positional data, which is obtained by a GPS unit during photographing, and image data on a memory card. The camera receives the positional data representing the photographing place from the GPS unit, and records the positional data and the image data on the memory card. While the GPS unit is measuring the position to obtain the positional data to be recorded, an image pickup circuit including a CCD sensor, etc. which converts image light into an image signal, a recording circuit for recording the image signal on the memory card, an LCD monitor which is used as a view finder, a strobe unit and a printer are halted.
Abstract:
A digital image reproduction apparatus including a scanner unit, a printer unit, a memory, an operator control unit integrated in the apparatus and provided with an input device and a display for the user to give operator control commands to the apparatus, a network connection unit for coupling to a network for the purpose of communication with a digital external environment including at least a number of workstations of users, a management unit connected to the scanner unit, printer unit, memory and network connection unit, and, via the network connection unit, to the workstations, which management unit maintains logic storage spaces in the memory, each allocated to a specific user. The management unit, when receiving from a said user's workstation a digital data file for printing, stores the file in the logic storage space of the relevant user and passes it for printing to the printer unit only on a command from the operator control unit, which command identifies the relevant file, and also, on receipt from the operator control unit of an order for scanning, such job being provided with a user identification, stores the data generated by the scanner unit in the logic storage space of the relevant user and passes it to a workstation of the relevant user only on a command from the latter workstation, which command identifies the relevant file. Other files, such as sets of adjustment parameters for printing or scanning processes, can also be stored in the logic storage spaces.
Abstract:
A transmission device includes: a first transmission unit that transmits data between the transmission device and an information processing device; a second transmission unit that receives data from an external transmission terminal; a determination unit that determines whether the information processing device is executing a data transmission processing program for controlling reception processes of the second transmission unit; and a control unit that, when the second transmission unit is to receive data from the external transmission terminal but not when the determination unit determines that the information processing device is not executing the data transmission processing program controls the first transmission unit to transmit to the information processing device, a predetermined control signal indicating that the second transmission unit is to receive data.
