摘要： The system and method of the present invention completes at least two calls originating from terminal equipment located at a premises and connected by a point-of-attachment having a single phone number to a public switched telephone network where a dial tone is provided to the premises. Multiple calls are now allowed with an analog interface to the public switched telephone network. At least two calls and control channel are combined into a modulated analog signal having a separate channel for each call and transmitted through a modulation/demodulation device as a modulated analog signal to the public switched telephone network. The modulated analog signal is split into respective calls and control channel. Each call is forwarded to a respective remote device based on the identity information and auxiliary information received through the control channel.

摘要： A telecommunication network having a switching system connected to a called station by a line that provides notification to a called party of information relating to an incoming call. This information generally consists of the called number, but may also include an extension or other code. The called party identification is delivered to the called telephone station set during the silent period after ringing, or, advantageously, before ringing starts. A signal (e.g., FSK) is sent to the called telephone station set shortly before the ringing signal is sent to the called station. A converter at the customer premises receives the FSK signal and demodulates it. A control unit connected to the converter then causes the called DN to be displayed, may cause a distinctive ring to be made, or take other action depending upon its program.

摘要： An added main line system is disclosed with particular utility in connection with equipment for providing the services of two telephone lines on a single conductor pair. The ring generator of the added main line system has two transistor bridges, one for the ringing signal on each of two subscriber lines. In each bridge, diagonally opposed pairs of transistors are turned on in alternation, providing alternating current for the ringing signal. The two bridges, each of which has four transistors, share two transistors. Comparators provide off-hook detection during the ringing cycle. Off-hook detection circuits are provided in series with selected driver transistors of the bridges, so that the condition of customer equipment going off-hook may be detected even though limited power is available for testing for the off-hook condition. Ring detectors at the central office are coupled digitally to ring generators at the subscriber equipment, and bit-message protocols are provided so that the added main line apparatus is able to replicate, at the customer line, the ringing cadence provided at the central office.

摘要： A ring scheduling apparatus for use in a digital multiplexed telephone communication system. The apparatus utilizes a controller which sorts messages indicating which telephone lines are being rung and what frequency and DC signal level are required to ring the lines. The messages are sorted into voltage and frequency compatible groups, and then digital data is sent to a ring signal generating circuit to control the frequency of the ring signal generated and the polarity of the DC signal upon which the ring signal is superimposed. Disclosure of a multiplexer and line interface circuitry for use in this system is included as well as a self-test circuit for testing the audio circuitry of idle telephone lines.

摘要： A telephone isolation device having a latching relay operated switch in one of the telephone conductors which when the relay is actuated brings a voltage dividing branch circuit that includes a restoring coil of the relay into parallel with a subscriber's telephone. If the telephone is connected and off of the hook, the low impedance of the telephone keeps the flow of current to the restoring coil below an operable value. When the telephone is placed on the hook, all current thereafter passes through the restoring coil to again connect the telephone to the telephone conductors. The disconnect coil of the relay is actuated by applying a positive 100 volt DC current to both lines of the telephone system.

摘要： A subscriber loop carrier system using digital multiplex techniques is disclosed in which remote subscriber loops include multiparty lines. Four party fully selective ringing signals are detected at the central office terminal of the system and converted to cyclic codes which are detected at the remote terminal with simple asynchronous circuits. The code generation and detection circuits are implemented with multiple output inverter circuits which provide simple logic structures for integrated circuit realization. Standard polarized ringing signals are applied to either conductor at the remote terminal of the system to ring the proper party.
