    摘要: Systems and methods for intelligently routing an incoming telephone call to an internal extension based on the calling history are provided. According to one embodiment, a session log, containing information regarding sessions between internal extension numbers and external telephone numbers, is maintained by a call monitor of a telephone system. The internal extension numbers are associated with telephone extensions within the telephone system and the external telephone numbers are associated with telephones outside of the telephone system. An incoming telephone call is received by the call monitor from a telephone outside the telephone system that is associated with an external telephone number. It is determined by the call monitor whether the incoming call represents a call-back to an internal extension number based on the session log. When the incoming call is determined to represent a call-back, then causing a switch to route the incoming call to the internal extension number.

    摘要: Systems and methods for intelligently routing an incoming telephone call to an internal extension based on the calling history are provided. According to one embodiment, a session log is maintained by a call monitor of a telephone system. The session log contains multiple call session records relating to telephone calls between internal extension numbers and external telephone numbers. An incoming telephone call from a telephone external to the telephone system is received by the call monitor. The session log is searched by the call monitor for a call session record corresponding to the external telephone number. When a result of the searching meets one or more predetermined or configurable conditions, then a switch of the telephone system is caused by the call monitor to route the incoming telephone call to one of the internal extension numbers.

Handling-profile information, which may be used in handling of communication requests directed to a user, may be received in a computerized central unit. The computerized central unit may then transfer handling information that is based on the handling-profile information, to a network server in a network with which the user is associated, for enabling the network server to handle (e.g., forward) communication requests associated with the user based on the handling information. The handling-profile information may comprise destination addresses for use in handling communication requests associated with the user; categorizations of callers into caller groups; and/or handling-schemes for specifying how to handle communication requests from particular callers. The handling-schemes may specify for different communication technologies, whether a received communication request through each communication technology is forwarded to a destination address using a particular communication technology.

    摘要: A method and an apparatus are disclosed that manage the held calls for an off-premises terminal at the system that extends calls to the terminal, such as a private branch exchange or other type of data-processing system, instead of at the system that is receiving the extended calls, such as a mobile switching center at which a cell phone is registered. The disclosed technique is based on the observation that the extending system knows of an incoming call to an off-premises terminal before the receiving system. As a result, the extending system can advantageously select the calls that it holds versus the calls that it sends to the receiving system. The extending system can control the routing costs and provide a consistent look-and-feel of call control to the off-premises terminal user.

    摘要: A vPBX server manages calls in a bridged line appearance (BLA) group. A BLA group can include extensions for location-aware mobile devices. The vPBX server contains location based forwarding rules that can be applied together with BLA redirection rules in managing incoming calls. A single extension can appear as a user interface element (e.g., an icon or button) on multiple mobile devices. Using the user interface element, a primary user can view a secondary user's status, including the secondary user's location information. The vPBX server allows the primary user to redirect the incoming calls to devices in accordance with the forwarding rules and the redirection rules.

    摘要: A telecommunications system is disclosed that enables a user to pair a desk set that is an extension of a private-branch exchange with a cell phone that is accessible via the Public Switched Telephone Network. One feature of the telecommunications system enables a call that is directed to the user's desk set to be automatically forwarded to the user's cell phone. This is advantageous to the user because it provides the illusion to the caller that the user is physically in his or her office when they are not necessarily there. A similar feature also provides the illusion when a third party initiates a call that connects the user's cell phone to a called party. Such a third party includes a computer telephony application in a telephone telemarketing center, which automatically places many outgoing telephone calls.

If the recipient device does not answer the incoming call, the call is transferred to an intranet gateway.
