摘要： A lock assembly having a latch member that is held in position against a mounting plate by tabs extending from the mounting plate without requiring a bolt, thus allowing a bolt having a desired one of many different head patterns to be installed in the lock assembly at a later time. The mounting plate has at least two upwardly-extending tabs for connecting the latch member to the mounting member without the bolt, which can be inserted through aligned apertures in the mounting plate and latch member at a later time. Preferably, each tab has a first portion that extends upwardly a certain distance from the mounting plate, and a second portion that extends from the vertical portion. Preferably, the second portions of the tabs extend in opposite directions. A back portion of the latch member is placed on the mounting plate such that a first tab extends through an aperture in the back portion of the latch member and such that a second tab is located adjacent to a notch in the back portion of the latch member. The position of the latch member is then adjusted so that a part of the back portion of the latch member is slid under the second portion of each tab.

摘要： A doorbell block (A) is disclosed which includes a cover (18) and a pair of movable sidewalls (26, 28) which are biased towards each other to grippingly engage a doorbell housing (14) so that a face plate (20) of the cover prevents actuation of the door bell button (16) and unwanted rings. Tab openings (E) allow the user to spread the sidewalls apart for installation and removal. A biasing spring (C) urges the sidewalls together to grippingly engage the doorbell housing to retain the cover in place.

摘要： A fastener for a hasp including a staple and utilized to lock a pay telephone station coin box for preventing unauthorized entry thereinto, and comprising a first element formed in an E-shape or an -shape and having a middle projection positioned in the interior space of the staple for disposing the latter element adjacent to the hasp member attached to the face of the box, and a second element formed with an opening through which the free end of the staple is passed to dispose the latter element exteriorly of the staple with one surface in juxtaposition with an opposite surface of the first element. The juxtapositioned surfaces may be plain or provided with predetermined, mated projections, including the first-mentioned projections, grooves and recesses bonded together to constitute a bielement unitary fastener difficult to remove from the hasp without showing evidence of tampering with the fastener.

摘要： A locking device composed of two strips of metal bent into specific configurations, and a U-shaped baffle, to provide a tamper-proof assembly when emplaced on a lidded container. A first strip is fixed to the container by a concealed screw within the container. The second strip overlies the lid and includes a portion superposed over a portion of the one strip. The baffle is fixed to the second strip. The aforesaid portions of the strips are provided with registered holes through which the shackle of a padlock is threaded to lock the assemblage in place and prevent the opening of the lid. The baffle is couplable to the first strip and inhibits relative rotation of the strips about the common axis of the holes. The invention is applicable for locking any lidded boxes or containers, e.g. electric meter wiring cabinets, to prevent the tampering with elements within the box such as service wires interposing an electric meter between power lines and house lines.
