摘要： A key safekeeping device for fitting into a hole in a door, wall or corresponding structure includes a first tubular element (10) that carries a first collar (12) on an outer end thereof. A lock cylinder (14) is detachably fitted to the first tubular element. A second tubular element (20) that carries a second collar (22) is intended for lockable engagement with the first tubular element. At least one of the collars is comprised of a separate ring-shaped part (22) that includes an internal aperture for receiving a blocking means (24) in the form of a bent/curved element that is intended to be fitted into a peripheral groove (20c) in the barrel surface of the second tubular element. The blocking element, which lies hidden in the aperture of the ring-shaped part, cannot therefore be removed when the key safekeeping device is fitted and the lock cylinder is mounted in place. Because the collars can be produced as separate parts, the key safekeeping device can be manufactured from tubing of any appropriate material thickness, therewith minimizing the cutting work required in manufacture. This provides gains with respect to tool costs, material consumption, working time and therewith also in respect of the environment.

The locking mechanism includes a male retainer contained on a frame member of a first module, with the male retainer having a locking arm adapted to be moved from an unlocked position to a locked position. A complementary female retainer is contained on a frame member of a second module, with the female retainer being in the form of an elongated keyway designed to receive and hold the locking arm in a locked position. Means are provided to move the arm from an unlocked position to a locked position when the male and female retainers are in alignment for locking the modules together.

The base and front closure members include complementary horizontal support members and the front closure member is dimensioned to be slidably received through the open front of the base member to form a base assembly that may be filled with ballast. Respective support members define apertures through which elongate fasteners may be extended when aligned so as to couple the front closure member to the base member. A top panel is configured for slidable engagement with the base member so as to cover the open top. The top panel and base member include corresponding bores through which a rod may be extended and locked. Selected items may be stowed for safekeeping in a compartment mounted to an underside of the top panel.

摘要： A lock assembly having a latch member that is held in position against a mounting plate by tabs extending from the mounting plate without requiring a bolt, thus allowing a bolt having a desired one of many different head patterns to be installed in the lock assembly at a later time. The mounting plate has at least two upwardly-extending tabs for connecting the latch member to the mounting member without the bolt, which can be inserted through aligned apertures in the mounting plate and latch member at a later time. Preferably, each tab has a first portion that extends upwardly a certain distance from the mounting plate, and a second portion that extends from the vertical portion. Preferably, the second portions of the tabs extend in opposite directions. A back portion of the latch member is placed on the mounting plate such that a first tab extends through an aperture in the back portion of the latch member and such that a second tab is located adjacent to a notch in the back portion of the latch member. The position of the latch member is then adjusted so that a part of the back portion of the latch member is slid under the second portion of each tab.

摘要： A locking mechanism of the barb type is provided for releasably locking two elements together. One of the elements has two pairs of opposed barbs or hook type resilient members. The barbs or hooks of each pair facing each other and being spaced apart. The other element has a pair of opposed, spaced ledges with downwardly facing surfaces engageable, in a locking relationship, with the barbs. An appropriate size opening is provided in the first element above the opposed pairs of barbs. The opening is a round central portion and a pair of side lobes coextensive with the opposed pairs of barbs. A separate key having a central rotational axis is provided. The key has a handle, an intermediate round portion connected to a working end portion, and generally oval in shape or cross section. The key is insertable in the opening such that the narrow part of the oval portion rests between the pairs of opposed barbs. The key is rotated around its axis in either direction to simultaneously urge both pairs of opposed barbs away from each other and out of engagement with the ledges to unlock the mechanism. The key can be rotated to a central stable position to lock the barbs in an open or unlocked position.

摘要： A lock system for a horizontal tool box wherein the latching mechanism for the lid may be operated from the proximal end of the toolbox and locking is achieved by means of a single padlock which is likewise located at the proximal end of the toolbox. An elongated latch rod is slidably disposed adjacent a front wall of either the body or lid components of the box. The padlock and the elongated latch rod are disposed such that the padlock body blocks the longitudinal movement of the proximal end of the latch rod and maintains the latch rod in the latched position when the body components are in the closed position and the padlock is locked, but the proximal end of the latch rod passes between the shackle and the padlock body to move the latch rod to the release position when the padlock is unlocked.

The retrofittable cap locking device includes a base portion. The base portion has an opening therein for receiving the stem of a tank designed for holding fuel and oil. The base portion has a peripheral edge. A cover portion comprises a plate having a top side, a bottom side and a peripheral wall extending therebetween. The bottom side has a flange thereon. The flange has a size adapted to fit around the cap of the stem. A first rod has a first end fixedly coupled to the peripheral wall and a second end hingedly coupled to the peripheral edge. The first rod is orientated generally perpendicular to a plane of the plate such that the rod extends away from the bottom side of the plate. A second rod is fixedly coupled to the peripheral wall. The second rod extends in the same direction as, and is orientated generally perpendicular to, the first rod. The first rod has a free end adapted to be releasably lockable to the base portion.
