摘要： The improved portable marking tool has a head member with an axial bore therethrough. An anvil extends through the bore and has an outer end portion with marking devices thereon. An actuator member connected to a source of fluid under pressure is positioned in spaced relation to the head member and has a fluid actuated piston rod assembly movable longitudinally therein. A tubular connecting member is secured at one end to the head member and at the other end to the actuator member. Positioned within the tubular connector member is a striking tool that includes a longitudinally movable body portion coaxially positioned on a tubular support member. As the head member is depressed against an object to be marked, the rearward movement of the head member operably opens a spool valve to provide flow of fluid under pressure through a second conduit to the actuator member for actuation of the marking tool. Unless the marking devices are positioned in the axial bore of the head member and in abutting relation with the anvil member, the head member is restrained from moving and thereby opening the spool valve for actuation of the marking tool.

摘要： An impact motive implement for a fluid impact tool or the like. The implement has a main body having an upper cylinder and a lower cylinder. An upper piston and a lower piston are fitted into the two cylinders and connected with a piston rod. An impact tool is disposed under the main body against the upper end of which the lower end of the lower piston strikes when the piston are lowered. A main valve opens and closes an oil inlet port and an oil outlet port leading to the oil chamber in the lower portion within the lower cylinder, and a limiting valve is moved by the upper piston as it rises. The operating portion of the main valve and the limiting valve are correlated so that the main valve will shut off the oil chamber and the oil inlet port and connect the oil chamber and the oil outlet port by feeding compressed high pressure gas in the upper chamber within the upper cylinder to the operating portion of the main valve when the limiting valve is moved by the upper piston, and the oil chamber and the oil inlet port are connected and the oil chamber and the oil outlet are shut off when the limiting valve is not moved by the upper piston, and when the oil chamber is connected with the oil inlet port, the lower piston is pressed upward by the pressure oil fed into the oil chamber.

摘要： A torque and impulse transmitting machine with a built-in motor wherein the tool supporting spindle receives impulses from a rotary impeller gear which drives the spindle in response to rotation of the output shaft of the motor and is biased against a flange of the spindle by a strong helical spring. The impeller gear is moved axially rearwardly and away from the spindle during each revolution of the spindle by a shifting device which has two cams or two crown gears. One of the cams or crown gears is axially movably mounted in the housing of the machine and the other cam or crown gear forms part of a hub on the impeller gear. The latter strikes against the flange of the spindle whenever it is free to follow the bias of the helical spring.

摘要： This disclosure describes a propulsion cycle for a subterranean burrowing device. This cycle is characterized by the impact of an oscillating hammer upon an interior anvil, and by the return of the hammer to its starting position by force of a reaction piston acting on the hammer. While the reaction piston does work on the hammer, the opposite force thus produced on the mole nose causes a further soil penetration. The hammer eventually comes to rest and is returned to the anvil by a unidirectional constant bias force. The cycle is inherently self-timed.
