    摘要: Method and apparatus for extending a fly section of a telescopic crane boom which fly section does not have its own power unit to effect extension or retraction. The boom includes a base section, an inner powered section telescoping within the base section, an outer powered section telescoping within the inner section, and a non-self-powered fly section telescoping within the outer section. To extend the fly section, a load pin connecting the fly section to the outer section is released using a hydraulic cylinder mounted to the base section. The load pin is locked in the released position by a locking device. The outer section is then extended, taking the fly section with it. Upon full extension of the outer section, the inner end of the fly section is latched to the inner section or base section by latch pins actuated by a hydraulic cylinder. The outer section is then retracted, exposing the fly section and unlocking the load pin from its released position. The load pin then simply slides along the bottom of the fly section until, upon full retraction, the load pin snaps into a hole at the inner end of the fly section to prevent relative motion of the fly section and the outer section. The fly section is then unlatched from the inner section or base section. At this point the outer section and inner section may be independently operated, with the fly section in fully extended position. The fly section is then retracted by basically reversing the procedure. A circuit is also provided so as to prevent both the load pin and the latch pins from being disengaged simultaneously unless the fly section is fully retracted within the outer section.

    摘要: An apparatus is disclosed for maintaining a predetermined mast-boom working angle of a pendant supported boom substantially constant during extension and retraction of the boom. One embodiment of the invention includes control means connected between the boom and the mast for detecting slight angular changes and actuating power means for paying out or drawing in sufficient pendant to return the mast-boom angle to a predetermined angle. Another embodiment utilizes electrical controls having a first potentiometer capable of detecting linear changes in the effective boom supporting length of the pendant and another potentiometer for detecting linear changes in the length of the boom, said potentiometer sending output signal ratios which vary from a predetermined output signal ratio for actuating power means that takes up or pays out sufficient pendant to return the boom to the predetermined mast-boom working angle and returns the output signal ratio to said predetermined ratio.

    摘要: Means for extending and retracting a section of a multisection telescopic crane boom that lacks its own extend-retract hydraulic cylinder are disclosed. Such means comprise a boom having a base section, an inner mid section and hydraulic cylinder therefor, an outer mid section and hydraulic cylinder therefor, a fly section and hydraulic cylinder therefor, and a manual section. Two solenoid operated tapered pins are mounted in longitudinally spaced apart relationship on the manual section. The forward pin cooperates with a forward pin hole and a rearward pin hole in the fly section. The rear pin cooperates with a pin hole in the cylinder for the outer mid section. Extending the manual section for use (assuming) all movable sections and cylinders retracted) involves: extending the fly section with the manual section pinned thereto; energizing both solenoids to unpin the manual section from the fly section and to pin the former to the outer mid cylinder; retracting the fly section; and deenergizing both solenoids to unpin the manual section (now extended) to the fly section and to unpin the manual section from the outer mid cylinder. The method of retracting the manual section is the reverse of extending it.
