    摘要: A static brake controller for an electromechanical brake initially supplies direct current voltage from a first bridge rectifier, energized from a power supply transformer, to the brake magnet coil to release the brake and then supplies reduced direct current voltage from second bridge rectifier, energized by a reduced voltage tap on the power supply transformer, to the brake magnet coil to maintain the brake released while preventing coil overheating. The first bridge rectifier has SCR''s in the legs thereof and a relaxation oscillator energizable from the transformer and including a unijunction transistor and an emitter capacitor connected thereto, applies gating pulses to the SCR''s to render them conductive. Oscillator disabling means, including a timing capacitor energizable from the transformer and dischargeable to operate a first transistor to short-circuit the emitter capacitor, are provided to disable the relaxation oscillator a predetermined interval of time after the power supply transformer is energized. A solid state logic reset circuit, including a normally reverse-biased transistor which becomes forwardly biased in response to deenergization of the power supply transformer, is provided to operate a second transistor which short-circuits the timing capacitor to effect reset thereof and to operate said first transistor which shortcircuits the emitter capacitor to disable the relaxation oscillator.

    摘要: A mobile crane comprises a multisection telescopic boom and an optionally usable multisection telescopic lattice type jib (having a base section and axially movable intermediate and fly sections) which when not in use is telescoped and stored on a support in parallel reverse disposition alongside the boom. Each jib section comprises four hollow tubular longitudinal members (each of rectangular cross-section) arranged in parallel spaced apart relationship with a plurality of angularly disposed tubular cross braces connected between each pair of members to define a jib section of rectangular cross section. Each longitudinal member is rotated on its axis to present opposite inwardly and outwardly facing flat bearing surfaces and also to present two other opposite flat surfaces to which the ends of the cross braces are welded. Bearing means are provided to facilitate relative sliding motion and to transmit thrust forces between adjacent jib sections. The bearing means comprises inwardly facing slide pads mounted at the lower front ends of the base and intermediate sections and outwardly facing slide pads mounted at the upper and lower rear ends of the intermediate and fly sections; each slide pad being mounted on a support secured within the hollow end of a tubular longitudinal member and engaged with an appropriate bearing surface on an adjacent jib section. To unstore the jib and set it up for use, the foot end of the jib is releasably connected by pivot pin means to the point end of the boom and the boom is partially extended to axially move the jib forward clear of its support. At this stage the unextended jib may be swung 180* about the pivot pin means into axial alignment with the boom and rigidly secured thereto by suitable attachment means. Or, the jib may be partially or fully extended prior to being swung 180* by connecting either the jib intermediate section or the jib fly section, respectively, by releasable rear pin means to the boom base section and by then further extending the boom, either partially or fully, respectively. In all cases, prior to swinging the jib, a guy wire jib mast pivotally attached to the boom point and folded back alongside the boom is swung into upright position. The jib is designed so that it can be rigidly connected at an angle to the boom axis and so that the jib fly section can be rigidly connected at an angle to the jib axis.

    摘要: A load grab mechanism for use on a material handling device such as a stacker crane to handle heavy loads having a central opening (such as coils of sheet metal) comprises a support on which a horizontally disposed splined shaft is mounted for rotation by a pair of hydraulic actuators. A pair or grapple arms are mounted on the splined shaft and are slidably movable by another pair of hydraulic actuators to juxtaposed or separated positions. The grapple arms are movable to horizontal or vertical positions by rotation of the splined shaft. A stop block rigidly mounted on the support engages the grapple arms when they are in juxtaposed or partly separated horizontal position to prevent their downward rotation when subjected to a load. In operation, the grapple arms (in either horizontal or vertical position) can engage the ends of the central opening of a horizontally disposed coil. The grapple arms (in horizontal position and juxtaposed) can be inserted into one end of the coil opening. The crane is then operated to move the load to a desired location; whereupon the grapple arms are moved to release the load.

    摘要: Apparatus for testing the rated load, speed and braking capabilities of a hoist comprises a hydraulically operated test winch which imposes a predetermined load or line pull at a predetermined speed on the hoist line. The hoist line is connected to the test winch cable by a lever and pulley arrangement. A load cell responsive to lever movement and, therefore, the load imposed, provides a visual readout thereof at an operation control station. Load size is remotely adjustable from the control station by a load control rheostat which controls an electric-hydraulic pressure control valve which, in turn, adjusts the pressure relief setting of a pressure relief valve between a hydraulic winch motor and the hydraulic pump for that motor. A load control pressure gauge at the control station is responsive to output pressure of the electric-hydraulic pressure control valve for the pressure relief valve and is calibrated to indicate pounds of line pull or load which the hoist being tested can exert to enable the operator to set the load control rheostat accordingly. Load speed is remotely adjustable from the control station by a speed control rheostat which controls another electric-hydraulic pressure control valve which, in turn, operates a cylinder to adjust the speed setting of a servo-stem speed control device on the pump. A speed control pressure gauge at the control station is responsive to output pressure of the other electric-hydraulic pressure control valve for the speed adjustment cylinder and is calibrated to indicate feet per minute of hoist line speed to enable the operator to set the speed control rheostat accordingly.
