    摘要: A telescopic rod composed of a plurality of tubular rod sections which are mounted so as to be slidable within each other includes a multistage piston-cylinder unit which is arranged within the telescopic rod and is connected to the outermost rod section of the telescopic rod and to the last inner rod section of the telescopic rod. Locking bars are provided in the areas of the inner end faces of individual sections, wherein the locking bars are displaceable in a direction transversely of the longitudinal direction of the rod sections and wherein the locking bars can be placed in operative engagement with the respectively adjacent outer rod section. When the rod sections of the telescopic rod are in the extended end position, the locking bar of each inner rod section engages in a positively locking manner in an opening of the respectively outer adjacent rod section. Spring-biased clamps are provided on the outer sides of the rod sections located between the outermost rod section and the innermost rod section. When the telescopic rod is pushed together, the clamps grasp in a positively engaging manner bolts arranged at the end faces of the inwardly following rod sections.

Pendants are trained over sheaves on a live mast, and one end of the pendants is held by a stop on the mast. The opposite end of the pendants is connected to the base section of the boom.

    摘要: An electro-hydraulic control system to enable either simultaneous extension or retraction of all boom sections in a telescopic crane boom or independent extension or retraction of one or more individual boom sections comprises a valve assembly, including solenoid-operated extend and retract valves, on each boom section cylinder; a manually operable three-position (neutral, extend, retract) main control valve for connecting the valve assemblies to a pressurized fluid source and to a reservoir; a relay for energizing all solenoid valves simultaneously when the main control valve is operated to extend or retract positions to thereby effect simultaneous extension or retraction, respectively, of all boom sections; and manually actuatable selector switches, one for each movable boom section, which, when any one selector switch is actuated while the main valve is operated, override the relay and energize only the solenoid valves in a selected valve assembly thereby enabling independent extension or retraction of a selected boom section.

    摘要: An extensible cantilever boom assembly, for a mobile crane, has telescopically interfitting box-like boom sections, that include web or side plates of uniform thickness. These plates are shaped to provide increased stiffness, and openings are provided within some of the plates to reduce the plate weight, so that the load carrying capacity of the boom is increased. A plurality of shaped portions are formed within the plates, at locations intermediate the top edges and the bottom edges of the plates. These plate portions are spaced laterally from the parallel planes that define the side surfaces of the plates, at the junctures of the side surfaces with the top and bottom edges. The shaped portions, located at longitudinally spaced intervals, are aligned in a row that extends longitudinally of the plate. Each shaped portion has a regular geometrical pattern that forms a laterally projecting protuberance on one side of the plate and a corresponding depression on the opposite side of the plate.

    摘要: A truck mounted crane has a three-part, extensible boom in which telescopic motion is accomplished by a pair of extension cylinders contained within the boom. Frictional forces between the slidably mounted boom sections are minimized by improved pad assemblies positioned at selected bearing points. Support members in the form of rollers are positioned within the boom immediately above the lower extension cylinder to not only prevent the extension cylinder from buckling under full load conditions, but to support the outer boom section when it is retracted inward. The result is a reduction in the size and weight of the extension cylinders and a consequent reduction in boom weight.

    摘要: A mobile crane comprises a multisection telescopic boom and an optionally usable multisection telescopic lattice type jib (having a base section and axially movable intermediate and fly sections) which when not in use is telescoped and stored on a support in parallel reverse disposition alongside the boom. Each jib section comprises four hollow tubular longitudinal members (each of rectangular cross section) arranged in parallel spaced apart relationship with a plurality of angularly disposed tubular cross braces connected between each pair of members to define a jib section of rectangular cross section. Each longitudinal member is rotated on its axis to present opposite inwardly and outwardly facing flat bearing surfaces and also to present two other opposite flat surfaces to which the ends of the cross braces are welded. Bearing means are provided to facilitate relative sliding motion and to transmit thrust forces between adjacent jib sections. The bearing means comprises inwardly facing slide pads mounted at the lower front ends of the base and intermediate sections and outwardly facing slide pads mounted at the upper and lower rear ends of the intermediate and fly sections; each slide pad being mounted on a support secured within the hollow end of a tubular longitudinal member and engaged with an appropriate bearing surface on an adjacent jib section. To unstore the jib and set it up for use, the foot end of the jib is releasably connected by pivot pin means to the point end of the boom and the boom is partially extended to axially move the jib forward clear of its support. At this stage the unextended jib may be swung 180* about the pivot pin means into axial alignment with the boom and rigidly secured thereto by suitable attachment means. Or, the jib may be partially or fully extended prior to being swung 180* by connecting either the jib intermediate section or the jib fly section, respectively, by releasable rear pin means to the boom base section and by then further extending the boom, either partially or fully, respectively. In all cases, prior to swinging the jib, a guy wire jib mast pivotally attached to the boom point and folded back alongside the boom is swung into upright position. The jib is designed so that it can be rigidly connected at an angle to the boom axis and so that the jib fly section can be rigidly connected at an angle to the jib axis.
