    摘要: A method is provided for processing a sulphide mineral composition which at least partly comprises an iron-containing mineral. The method includes the steps of: (a) milling said composition to a particle size P80 of 20 microns or less; (b) leaching said composition with a solution comprising sulphuric acid and ferric ions at ambient pressure while sparging with an oxygen-containing gas in an open tank reactor at a temperature of up to about the boiling point of the solution, whereby at least some of the acid and at least some of the ferric ions are obtained from dissolution of the iron-containing mineral, and ferrous ions generated by the leaching reaction are substantially re-oxidised to ferric ions in the leaching solution; (c) precipitating excess iron and separating said iron together with any solid materials from the leaching solution; (d) extracting desired metal ions from the leaching solution by solvent extraction with an organic solvent, such that the raffinate comprises sulphuric acid and ferric ions; (e) returning the raffinate to the leaching tank and blending with further milled composition; and (f) separating the metals from the organic phase obtained in step (c) by stripping with electrolyte and electrowinning.

    摘要: A process comprises leaching zinc oxide either separately or in conjunction with iron oxides from a partially desulfurized zinc bearing sulfide ore of concentrate. The ore is pretreated to eliminate in a controlled manner sulfur-sulfur-sulfide in the ore yet leaving sufficient residual sulfur-sulfide in the material such that iron values are maintained substantially wholly in the ferrous state, while converting zinc sulfide to zinc oxide without formation of FeO-ZnO complexes. The partially desulfurized material may be selectively leached with a sulfuric acid containing solution under neutral leach conditions to dissolve thereby preferentially the zinc oxide over the iron oxide. Alternatively the material may be leached with a higher concentration of sulfuric acid containing solution to dissolve preferentially zinc oxide and iron oxide simultaneously. The leach liquor may be subsequently treated to electrolytically remove zinc.

    摘要: A process for the recovery of copper and zinc values from copper and zinc containing sulphidic ore includes subjecting ground ore to a flotation operation. An initial copper concentrate is floated in a first flotation step, and the initial copper concentrate is fed to a second flotation step to float a relatively zinc free copper concentrate. Remaining ore from the first flotation step is fed to a third flotation step to float an initial zinc concentrate, and remaining ore from the third flotation step is fed to a fourth flotation step to float a copper and zinc containing material. An intermediate concentrate containing from about 5 to about 25% copper and from about 2 to about 25% zinc, with a total of at least about 12% copper and zinc, is produced by selecting at least the remaining ore from the second flotation step, and a zinc concentrate containing at least about 20% zinc is produced by at least selecting a portion of the initial zinc concentrate.
