    摘要: The invention is directed to an apparatus for sensing a gaseous component in air and includes a housing having a flushing chamber through which an air sample can flow via a closeable inlet and a closeable outlet. The sensor is mounted in a measuring chamber above the flushing chamber and is hermetically sealed from its ambient not only during the time that the flushing chamber is flushed with the air sample; rather, and most important, during the measuring operation itself in order that any influences from a diffusion of the ambient air into the measuring chamber is prevented. For this purpose and to determine the sample quantity diffusing into the measuring chamber at the beginning of a specific period of time, the inlet as well as the outlet of the flushing chamber is closed while at the same time the diffusion passage interconnecting the two chambers is opened. After the time period has run, the diffusion passage is again closed.

    摘要: A residual analyzer assembly including an analyzer probe, typically of the amperometric type having a stable zero calibration, and a working fluid sampler system having means for backflushing the flow so as to periodically cleanse the system. The residual analyzer probe having two bare electrodes operating as a working electrode and a counter electrode. The working electrode being formed in a double spiral helix with the counter electrode being formed in an outer peripheral ring closely adjacent the working electrode. The probe also including a third electrode within an electrolytic solution and positioned behind a membrane located directly behind the working electrode. The three electrode system operated utilizing a potentiostat type circuit. The working fluid sampler system adapted to sample a portion of the working fluid flow and maintain a constant pressure into a flow block. A controlled amount of reagent being added for proper residual analyzation of the sample. The sample flow being directed into an impeller chamber which provides a constant flow velocity directly adjacent the exposed electrodes of the analyzer probe. A backflush mechanism is also provided to cleanse the internal flow passageways of the system on a periodic basis.

    摘要: A method for measuring parameters in suspensions containing particles which have a specific gravity greater than the liquid, by means of measuring probes in the interior of a quiescent-flow vessel. The method includes tangentially introducing a stream of the suspension into the flow vessel at one end thereof and tangentially withdrawing it therefrom at the other end thereof, under the same direction of rotation. The device is adapted for measuring a descending or an ascending stream, whereby, for measuring an ascending stream, the diameter at the top of the vessel is larger than the diameter at the bottom.

    摘要: An automatically depolarizing electrode system for analyzing ions and gases in a solution, especially in blood. A magnetic stirrer is placed in a test chamber of the electrode system and rubs the sensing surface of the electrode which constitutes the wall of the test chamber. During analysis, the rotating stirrer prevents blood from coagulating on the sensing portion of the electrode, so that the electrode is constantly kept clean and depolarized. Preferred is a flat and solid state ion selective electrode for this electrode system. Additionally, the size of the stirrer is designed not only to lessen the amount of a sample solution which is present in the test chamber but to prevent the reading response from retarding.

    摘要: A cylindrical closed housing formed of clear material provides a test flow cell for monitoring the halogen and pH level in a flowing liquid stream. The cylindrical housing includes a circumferential, longitudinally extending side surface with front and back end surfaces secured to the circumferential cylindrical surface to form the closed, hollow housing test cell. The housing has a first inlet opening at one side for the liquid stream; an outlet opening for the liquid stream at the top of the housing and a second inlet opening for acid at the bottom of the housing. A pair of additional openings, one on each side of the outlet opening receives and positions electronic sensing probes diagonally within the test flow cell; the probes terminate between the top outlet and bottom second inlet openings and opposite the first inlet side opening.A controller includes circuitry which enables the halogen and pH levels desired in a reservoir of water to be preset. The sensing probes measure the actual halogen and pH levels in the reservoir water, and the actual and preset levels are continuously compared by a comparator circuit in the controller. When the measured halogen level is below the set halogen level, additional halogen is injected in the reservoir water. A timer provides a timed electric signal at a predetermined interval to actuate pump means to inject muriatic acid during the timed signal period into the reservoir water if the measured pH is higher than the preset pH level of the reservoir water.

    摘要: An electrode system for measuring oxygen gas in a solution comprises a pair of electrodes consisting of an indicator electrode and a reference electrode immersed in an electrolyte solution and a membrane pressed against the indicator electrode. On the other side of the membrane, is a solution to be analyzed. In determination of gas in solution especially in blood, good reproducibility of data, a stable reading and a long performance life are obtained by rubbing the surface of the indicator electrode and rotating a magnetic stirrer on the membrane. These effective measures prevent the electrode and the membrane from being contaminated. Accordingly, continuous analysis of arterial blood can be achieved.

    摘要: An assembly for mounting a pH probe in a flowing solution, such as a sanitary sewer line, which prevents the sensitive glass portion of the probe from becoming coated with grease, oil, and other contaminants, whereby the probe gives reliable pH indication over an extended period of time. The pH probe assembly utilizes a special filter media and a timed back-rinse feature for flushing clear surface contaminants of the filter. The flushing liquid is of a known pH and is utilized to check performance of the probe.
