摘要： An anomaly detection system comprises an echo canceler and anomaly detection logic. The echo canceler has a plurality of taps respectively associated with a plurality of tap coefficients. The anomaly detection logic is configured to determine a difference between a new tap coefficient associated with one of the taps and a previous tap coefficient associated with the one tap. The anomaly detection logic is configured to perform a comparison between the difference and a threshold and to detect an anomaly along a telecommunication line based on the comparison.

The method comprises removing a repeater from an access case connected to a telecommunications line, connecting a test adapter to the access case and a test extension apparatus to the test adapter. The method further comprises connecting a plurality of diagnostic equipment devices to the test extension apparatus and testing the communications line with the diagnostics equipment via the test extension apparatus. The apparatus comprises a spool having a plurality of terminals, and a length of wire wound on the spool. The wire includes a plurality of subpairs of wires each of the subpairs of wires having a first end electrically connectable to the communications line, and a second end electrically connected to a corresponding terminal on the spool.

摘要： An enhanced ISDN-DP transmission device of the present invention allows for testing of ISDN-protocol communication paths using an existing DDS-protocol test infrastructure. The ISDN-DP unit receives a DDS test command and determines whether the command was intended for the immediate receiving unit or a tandem unit. If the command is intended for the immediate ISDN-DP unit, the unit processes the command. If the command is intended for another ISDN device in the transmission path, the ISDN-DP converts the DDS-protocol command to an ISDN-protocol command and transmits the converted ISDN command to an adjacent tandem ISDN device in the communication path in an upstream or downstream direction. After the test path is enabled, loopback testing is available on all available ISDN bandwidth, including the B1, B2 and D+ channels, from a DDS-protocol test set. DDS-protocol test access is available from a plurality of locations including: multiplexed bit stream access at a digital crossconnect switch; metallic access at a DS0 interface; faceplate access at the ISDN-DP unit.

摘要： An apparatus and method are provided for use in tracing transmission lines from a first location to a second location. The apparatus includes a signal generator, a timer/controller, a switching controller and a number of switches. In operation the switches are connected to transmission lines to be traced. The signal generator produces one or more unique signals. A unique signal pattern is applied to each transmission line by selectively opening and closing the switches connected to each transmission line, thereby allowing each transmission line to be traced from a first location to a second location by detection of the corresponding unique signal pattern.

The order wire circuit includes a first telephone terminal located in the master station, a second telephone terminal located in the dependent station, and a pair of telephone lines connecting the first and second telephone terminals. The order wire circuit also includes a hooking detection system installed in the master station, for detecting a hooking operation of the second telephone terminal. In addition, a circuit for switching the telephone lines from the first telephone terminal to a public line when the hooking operation is specifically detected is included. The hooking operation is generally specified by an on-hook state of the second telephone terminal after a first off-hook state is determined to be shorter than a first predetermined period and the first predetermined period terminates within a second predetermined period measured after the first off-hook operation of the second telephone terminal.

摘要： A processor controlled test set is disclosed for testing special service circuits of a telecommunication system. A microprocessor controls the overall operation of the test set, while a digital signal processor provides high speed timing signals to the various test circuits for generating the wave forms used in testing, as well as analyzes the test result signals that are converted into digital signals. A calibration of the test generator signals as well as the signal measuring path is carried out prior to the test sequence. The digital signal processor also provides gain control over a talking path to maintain stability thereof. An I/O circuit of the test set provides plural communication paths between remote equipment and the test set to initiate and carry out various tests. Processors in the I/O module are effective to convert the various protocols of the serial data, by way of software, to digital bit streams usable by the test set.

摘要： A testing unit allows an operator to select and test communication links of a communication system between an intermediate station and remote stations. Each remote station contains another communication link for establishing a second communication system between the intermediate station and the remote stations. The testing unit contains a first communication link for receiving and transmitting signals generated from a computer. This first communication link is part of the second communication system. The testing unit also includes a control unit which is connected to the first communication link for receiving and transmitting signals therefrom, and a second communication link which is connected to the control unit for receiving and transmitting signals therefrom. The second communication link is part of the second communication system so that communication can be established between the computer and the remote stations via the intermediate station by means of the second communication system. Finally, the testing unit includes a switching system controlled by the control unit and interconnecting the corresponding communication links with a generating and measuring device, whereby the operator can select at least one of the links between the intermediate station and one of the remote stations by sending command signals via the second communication system, and monitor a test procedure on the link that has been selected via the second communication system.
