    摘要: A communications system improves performance of detecting a signal having an indication of a request to change communications states by making at least two positive identifications of the request in a given time frame. The system may further improve performance by applying a difference in power levels for a non-request state (i.e., steady state or ‘control hold’ state) versus a request state (i.e., ‘request to change’ state). In one particular application, a base station determines a request to change communications states with a reasonably high probability of detection and a reasonably low probability of false detection. The system has a reduced number of erroneous communications states, such as erroneous traffic channel allocations. The detection technique is compatible with 1xEV-DV systems and I-CDMA systems, but general enough to support systems employing various other communications protocols used in wired and wireless communications systems.

A VoIP gateway apparatus 1 includes an ISDN terminal side IF portion 101, an IP network side IF portion 102, an ISDN network side IF portion 103, a condition storage portion 109, a detour determining portion 108, and a number editing portion 106. The detour determining portion 108 determines whether a call arriving at the ISDN terminal side IF portion 101 satisfies a detour condition stored in the condition storage portion 109 or not. If so, the number editing portion 106 edits the called party number of the call under a number editing condition stored in the condition storage portion 109 and then transmits it from the ISDN network side IF portion 103. If not, the call is transmitted from the IP network side IF portion 102 without editing the called party number.

    摘要: A system and method for delivering a communication signal to a subscriber without incurring right-of-way franchise fees associated with the signal. A central office on a first side of a right-of-way is in communication with a multiplexer on a second side of the right-of-way opposite the first side. The central office transmits a signal (e.g., a telephony signal) to the multiplexer such that the signal crosses the right-of-way. A wireless receiver on the second side receives another signal (e.g., a video signal) and transmits the other signal to the multiplexer. The multiplexer combines the signal and the other signal into a combined signal for routing to the subscriber (located on the second side). Because the communication of the other signal occurs entirely on the second side and does not access or cross into the right-of-way, the addition of the other signal avoids the imposition of a right-of-way franchise fee.
