摘要: In a safety shut-off valve, a housing includes a valve member therein, having a first valve seat, and against which a valve normally rests during closure, with a spring normally biasing said valve off of said first valve seat, and with the force of the pressurized fluid passing through the valve causing said valve to act against the force of a regulator and a second spring to become unseated for allowing gas flow, and reseated once again against a second valve seat when excessive pressure is encountered and which curtails the further flow of fluid through the valve housing, and thereby shutting off the fluid from its source.

摘要: A valve of the type which is actuated under the pressure of the medium it controls and in which axially-aligned actuating and damping pistons are disposed within cylindrical relief and damping chambers and are connected to a valve element engageable with a valve seat disposed between inlet and outlet valve ports. The actuating piston acts under the pressure of the medium it controls to actuate the valve element in response to a reduction in pressure in the relief chamber. The invention itself resides in the provision of a restricted passageway which interconnects the relief and damping chambers whereby the pressure in the damping chamber will be reduced slowly in response to a reduction in pressure in the relief chamber whereby, if the valve should stick or otherwise become slow-acting, the pressure within the damping chamber will assist and insure that the valve is actuated even though it may not be in the best operating condition.

摘要: In a preferred embodiment of the invention, an accessory safety valve is provided for mounting within outlet-ports of tanks designed to contain pressurized gas of some sort, particularly of an explosive or caustic nature, to replace the conventional outlet conduit normally mounted in such tanks which normally have the on-off valve exterior to the tank devoid of any safety back-up feature, the present accessory safety valve having the pressure-responsive safety mechanism mounted within the end of the conduit passage that extends totally inside the tank totally beyond exterior-mounting male thread to the conduit, placing the valve and valve set therefor thereby in a removed position protected against damage and failure in the event of an exterior-tank blow or impact against portions of the conduit mounted exterior to the tank.

Under flow surge conditions, the differential pressure forces the disk into sealing engagement with the vacuum port, thereby restricting the flow path to the slots in the disk damping out the flow surge.

摘要: A pressure operated shut-off valve for controlling a pneumatic circuit for instance a supply passage of a pneumatic tool, in response to the motive air supply pressure. The valve comprises a valve body that is continuously biased in its closing direction by a spring means and in its opening diection by the motive air supply pressure. If the air pressure drops below a predetermined minimum value the valve is automatically shifted to a closed position by the load of the spring means. A valve body controlled passage means supplies pressure air to the rear end of the valve body as the latter occupies its closed position, thereby making the closed position stable.

摘要: An air volume regulator adapted for use in an air distribution system for maintaining a constant flow of air therethrough regardless of variations in pressure of the air being supplied to the regulator is provided with adjustment means to permit adjusting the regulator for maintaining constant flow at a variety of different flow rates. The regulator includes a housing defining a passageway for the flow of air therethrough, valve means movable within the housing for adjustably restricting the flow of air therethrough, and a coil compression spring cooperating with the valve means for exerting an opening bias thereon in opposition to a closing bias imparted on the valve means by the pressure of the air in the housing. Adjustment means is provided cooperating with the coil spring for immobilizing a selected number of the turns of the coil spring so as to vary the biasing characteristics of the spring and thereby adjust the regulator for maintaining a different flow rate.

摘要: A proportional pressure compensating hydraulic control valve having a valve body and a valve spool mounted in the valve body for movement from a neutral or open center position wherein fluid flows through the valve body to an operating position wherein the flow of fluid through the valve is restricted to direct inlet fluid through a flow control orifice to a pressure passage within the valve body, the pressure passage being connected to one of a pair of cylinder passages, the other cylinder passage being connected to a tank passage. The valve spool in an open center mode controlling the flow of fluid to the control orifice and being pressure compensated to maintain a predetermined flow rate through the control orifice, pressure compensation being achieved by imposing inlet and pressure passage pressures selectively to each end of the valve spool so that the valve spool responds to the pressure differential across the control orifice. The valve spool in the closed center mode restricts the fluid flow between the pressure passage and the cylinder passage. The flow rate between the inlet passage network and the pressure passage is controlled either by a low force proportional solenoid valve assembly or a mechanically actuated assembly.
