摘要: A coordinate input device with a display has a tablet having two orthogonal position detecting sections each having elongated magnetic bodies and a plurality of exciting lines and a plurality of detecting lines which are arranged alternately such as to cross the magnetic bodies orthogonally thereto. These position detecting sections are superposed such that their magnetic bodies, exciting lines and detecting lines cross orthogonally. A tabular display is superposed on the tablet. The device further has a position appointing magnetism generator adapted for imparting local biases to the exciting lines of the position detecting sections. The exciting lines of the tablet are supplied with A.C. current of a predetermined frequency by a driving current source. A position detecting circuit is designed for detecting the corrdinate values of a position appointed by the position appointing magnetism generator through detection of voltage induced in the detecting lines in the tablet. The display is driven by a display control circuit. The operation of the above-mentioned constituents is controlled by a processor. With this arrangement, it is possible to input corrdinate data to the tablet by the position appointing magnetism generator with a high precision and by a simple operation from a remote position above the tablet, and the coordinate data or image information formed by these coordinate data can be visually checked directly on the display.

摘要: An x-y position detector is shown which comprises a pen and contact plate with a resistive layer formed thereon. Point electrodes are provided on the four sides of the resistive layer. The materials of the resistive layer and the pen are selected such that the pen is in reliable galvanic contact with the resistive layer. The resistive layer is hard and smooth, and permits easy motion of the pen.The resistive layer consists of carrier particles with a hardness of between 5 and 9 on the Mohs hardness scale, pyrolytically coated with carbon and embedded in a binder whereby the resistive layer is hard and enables easy motion of the pen. The surface on which the pen moves is formed by molding the resistive material on a smooth intermediate substrate.

摘要: A graphic form or figure drawn on a drawing and larger than the read-out area of a tablet is divided into graphic patterns which are successively read by displacing the drawing. The extent to which the drawing is displaced is recognized, and graphic data read before and after the drawing is displaced is converted into data on one coordinate system and entered as inputs. For entering the graphic data, two points are specified on the drawing, and the coordinates of the specified points prior and subsequent to displacement of the drawing are read and stored in first through fourth registers. The stored coordinates and the coordinates of points on the figure are entered into a coordinate transformation unit which effects arithmetic operations of coordinate transformation.

摘要: A digitizing system includes a first plurality of spaced parallel grid conductors and a second plurality of spaced parallel grid conductors orthogonal to the first plurality of spaced parallel grid conductors. The location of a movable coil arranged on a pen or cursor is determined for each plurality of grid conductors coarsely by sampling the voltage induced in one of the grid conductors from a signal applied to the coil to determine whether the coil is above or below this grid conductor. Through careful selection, a very few grid conductors can be sampled to quickly locate the two grid conductors immediately adjacent to the center of the driven coil. The ratio of the voltages present on these two grid conductors is matched against a list of known ratios representing various positions between the two grid conductors.

摘要: The invention improves the signal-to-noise ratio of a telewriter transmitter without requiring a change in preexisting telewriter transmission equipment. The individual crosspoints of an orthogonal matrix of wires are identified by high-frequency X and Y signals having phase-shifted characteristics which identify individual crosspoints by phase angles. The use of high frequencies reduces coupling impedance, especially when moisture is present or humidity is high. The high frequency signals are picked up by an electrostatic coupling between the point of a pen and any selected crosspoint which the pen happens to be near. The picked-up signal is amplitude modulated to increase its strength and then fed back to the identified crosspoint, thereby enhancing the strength of the picked-up signal. The enhanced signal is again picked-up and demodulated to recover the original phase-shifted characteristics of the signal which individually identified a crosspoint selected by the pick up means. The demodulated signals are then converted into the form of crosspoint identification signal which is used by the preexisting telewriter transmission system.

摘要: An identification system comprising a plurality of differently frequency coded markings including mechanical vibrating means, and a detector device for detecting the frequency or combination of frequencies of the vibrating means. The vibrating means of the various markings are preferably made from identical comb-like members having teeth which are vibratory with different natural frequencies and of the type used in small music boxes. The different frequency codes may then be obtained by removing teeth in different combinations from the members used in the various markings. The markings may, for example, be arranged on dairy cattle, and the identification system may then be used in connection with a milk sampling system.

摘要: An integrated touch-sensing display is operated to detect the location of one or more objects on a touch surface. The integrated touch-sensing display defines a display area. A light guide (14) is arranged over the display area to define the touch surface (16). The light guide (14) is illuminated internally such that an object (20) contacting the touch surface (16) causes part of the illuminating light to be scattered towards the display area. An array of light sensors (6) is integrated within the display area to detect the scattered light. Based on output signals from the light sensors (6), a processing element obtains image data that represents the light that impinges on the display area excluding ambient light, and determines the location of the object (20) on the touch surface (16). Ambient light may be suppressed by a spectral passband filter in front of each light sensor (6), and/or by electronic filtering of the output signals from the sensors (6). The light guide (14) may be illuminated by invisible light, and may be arranged to cause an illuminating beam to be internally reflected at a peripheral edge surface of the light guide (14), so as to increase the intensity of illuminating light inside the light guide (14).
