    Abstract: A control pintle carries a rotor which rotates around the pintle. The rotor has chambers which can take in and expel fluid. Passages of a reduced cross-sectional area carry the fluid to or from the control pintle and to or from the chambers. The control pintle has control parts and fluid lines, as well as certain recesses. Rotor and control pintle are insofar known from the former art. The invention provides unloading recesses in specific relation to the passages and chambers to make the rotor float around the control pintle concentrically or eccentrically in a desired extent. Supply slots are added to assist the build-up of hydrodynamic pressure fields to act in co-operation with the hydrostatic forces. Details are shown, how such supply means become provided or supply be secured.

    Abstract: A piston drive for use in diesel engines with a high specific liter output wherein the piston comprises discrete sealing and guiding sections and is constructed, configurated and assembled in such a way that the flow of power from the combustion zone takes place along straight paths directly from the crown to the connecting rod without causing any bending and/or other deformation of component parts of the drive. The piston drive allows for achievement of higher output, without increasing the stroke volume of the cylinder, by using relatively inexpensive piston sections and without reducing the E of the engine.

    Abstract: In a fluid pump or motor improvements are provided to the piston shoes therein to permit a higher pressure in the respective device. Other improvements are done to the hydrostatic bearings in radial piston or radial chamber type fluid motors and pumps. A further arrangement is, that plural pistons are applied to permit the use of two different fluids in the respective device. This leads also to the application of disc springs and their modification in a pump or motor to make the pumping of non-viscous fluids like water possible at very high pressure. Motors are provided with arrangements to permit them to drive and to carry simultaneously or to have hollow shafts, whereby improved and novel machines and vehicles are obtained.

    Abstract: This invention discloses a thermally insulated piston having a cap portion and a body portion. The cap can be made of metal or ceramic. The cap and body portion are joined together by a brazing alloy. The cap portion can have a groove for receiving the brazing alloy. The ceramic cap can have a retaining band portion in a retaining band groove the band being bonded to the body portion by a brazing alloy. The piston with the ceramic cap can have an interlayer between the cap and body portion, the interlayer being bonded to the cap portion and body portion by a brazing alloy. The interlayer can have an outer knife edge. The body portion has a machined groove adjacent to the cap portion comprised of cells filled with thermal insulating material.

    Abstract: An improved method of manufacturing a swash plate assembly for use in a compressor, fluid motor or similar device in which a plurality of pistons are connected, by means of connecting rods, to a swash plate which drives (or is driven by) the pistons. A plurality of piston assemblies are made by casting the piston around one end of a connecting rod section which is formed with a ball thus providing a ball-socket connection therebetween. Mating spherical ends with through-bores to receive the piston connecting rod section are cast-in-place and captured in sockets within the swash plate. The connecting rod section of the pistons is mated to the through-bores of the mating spherical ends and are positioned in an appropriate fixture to a fixed final relationship. The connecting rod sections are secured to the sidewall of each through-bore by a means such as electron-beam welding to secure the overall length of the final assembly.
