Abstract: A method is provided for determining a road condition by using a radar system having transmitter and receiving units for transmitting and receiving radar waves having two different polarizations and providing transmit and receive signals indicating an intensity of the transmitted and received radar waves. Co-polarized backscattering coefficients and at least one cross-polarized backscattering coefficient are determined based on the transmit and receive signals. If the cross-polarized backscattering coefficient is greater than or equal to a threshold, the road condition is determined based on a ratio of the co-polarized backscattering coefficients and based on a difference of one of the co-polarized backscattering coefficients and the cross-polarized backscattering coefficient. If the cross-polarized backscattering coefficient is smaller than the threshold, the road condition is determined based on the ratio and a difference of the co-polarized backscattering coefficients.

Abstract: A power inlet connector assembly configured for use in charging an electrical vehicle includes a housing subassembly containing a plurality of direct current (DC) electrical terminals configured to mate with corresponding direct current electrical terminals of a power outlet connector of an electrical vehicle charging device external to the electrical vehicle and a cover subassembly configured to be connected and disconnected from the housing subassembly. The electrical bus bars are configured to be connected and disconnected with the DC electrical terminals and the AC electrical terminals are configured to be inserted and removed from terminal cavities defined by the housing subassembly.

Abstract: A method of processing an image of a road having a road marker acquired by a vehicle-mounted camera to generate boundary data indicating a boundary of the road marker region of the image which represents the road marker, comprising: generating an LL sub-band image of an Mth level of an (M+1)-level discrete wavelet transform, DWT, decomposition of the image by iteratively low-pass filtering and down-sampling the image M times; generating a sub-band image of an (M+1)th level of the (M+1) level DWT decomposition by high-pass filtering the LL sub-band image and down-sampling a result of the high-pass filtering; and determining a boundary of a region of pixels of the sub-band image of the (M+1)th level, the region being surrounded by pixels having pixel values substantially different to the pixel values of the pixels in the region, the determined boundary indicating the boundary of the road marker region.

Abstract: A circuit board assembly includes a circuit board substrate defining an aperture extending therethrough and configured to accept a planar male terminal from a first side of the circuit board substrate. The assembly further includes a female terminal extending from a second side of the circuit board substrate opposite the first side that defines a slot in a U-shaped portion on the second side of the circuit board substrate. Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and techniques directed at object detection in a vehicle. In aspects, techniques include capturing current radar image data. The current radar image data includes at least one current point cloud. The current point cloud includes at least one current object point being related to an object, and each current object point includes spatial information related to the object. The techniques further include retrieving previous radar image data. The previous radar image data includes at least one previous point cloud. The previous point cloud includes at least one previous object point being related to the object, and each previous object point includes spatial information related to the object. The techniques further include concatenating the information from the current radar image data and the information from the previous radar image data to derive enhanced radar image data using a recurrent neural network.

Abstract: Disclosed are aspects of a vehicle that can be fitted with a visual seat belt sensor that detects whether a seat belt is worn when a seat is occupied. Such seat-belt detection systems can be implemented by using artificial neural networks or machine learning algorithms, which require a large amount of training data. A method for preparing training data includes providing an image containing a path object, such as a seat belt. Starting at a first end of the path object, a segmented line object is established, with the segmented line object including a plurality of data points and a plurality of line segments. Data points and labels, which can be respectively associated with the line segments, may be created in response to one or more user interactions at least substantially simultaneously to save time. A computer system, for instance, can implement the method.

Abstract: The pinch detector is suitable to detect a pinch at a closing member actuated by a motor equipped with a measuring circuit to measure a motor current. It includes a first portion that, when the motor starts closing the member, obtains a reference value of the motor current measured at the end of a blind time period having a predetermined duration from the moment the motor starts to close the member; a second portion that compares current values of the measured motor current to a threshold value depending on said reference value, during a detection time period, following the blind time period and preceding a steady state time period of the motor, in order to detect a pinch at the closing member based on a comparison result.
