Abstract: Arrangements for preparing a television channel for presentation are presented. A tuner of a television receiver may tune to a first television channel and the first television channel may be output for presentation. One or more idle tuners of the television receiver may be identified. One or more television channels other than the first television channel may be selected for preparation. The one or more television channels may be selected prior to receiving user input selecting a television channel of the one or more television channels for presentation. Each of the one or more television channels may be prepared for presentation by tuning, by each tuner of the one or more idle tuners, to the one or more television channels prior to receiving the user input selecting the television channel of the one or more television channels for presentation.

Abstract: Various activity tracker and communication devices are presented. Such devices may include a processing unit and a battery unit. Such devices may also include a flexible band unit, that includes a first band and a second band that removably couple with each other and a component housing that defines a top window and a bottom window. In some embodiments, the battery unit may be inserted within a cavity defined by the component housing such that a top window permits the processing unit to be viewed when the processing unit is installed in the component housing, but the top window is sized to not permit the processing unit and the battery unit to be removed through the top window.

Abstract: A wireless headset receives audio data wirelessly from a television receiver and outputs audio to the user through earphones. The wireless headset includes an inertial sensor that detects an orientation of the user's head. Abstract: Various embodiments of systems, apparatus, and methods are described for assembling at least one transport stream from satellite transponder signals. In one example, the method includes capturing at least one satellite feed, the at least one satellite feed including a plurality of transponder signals; demodulating each of the plurality of transponder signals, each demodulated transponder signal corresponding to a transport stream including a plurality of input streams; parsing one or more selected streams from the plurality of input streams; assembling at least one new transport stream from the one or more selected streams; modulating the at least one new transport stream to generate at least one new transponder signal; adding the at least one new transponder signal to a channel stack; and transmitting the channel stack to a receiving device.

Abstract: Systems, methods and devices provide efficient bandwidth allocation on a satellite, mobile telephone or other data connection by allowing nodes to share bandwidth for commonly-requested data. A transmission center, uplink or other gateway suitably recognizes when content requests from multiple different nodes are simultaneously requesting delivery of the same content. When the same content is recognized, the gateway device allocates shared bandwidth on the data transmission link for the requested content that is accessible to both the first and second nodes.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards a television system that utilizes a host device and television receiver to receive content via over-the-air television channels where the television receiver cannot directly receive over-the-air transmissions. The television receiver selects an over-the-air channel and provides the selection to the host device. The host device selects a television-white-space channel and provides the selection to the television receiver. The host device then receives content via the selected over-the-air channel, transcodes the content into wireless local area network data packets, and provides the transcoded content to the television receiver using the selected television-white-space channel. The television receiver receives the content via the selected television-white-space channel over the wireless local area network and provides it to a display device for display to a user.

Abstract: A solar powered satellite system is provided. More specifically, the present technology relates to using a home automation system to control home automation activity based on user preferences. Example embodiments include receiving an input from a user including a set of preferences, generating a user profile using the set of preferences, receiving data indicating that a mobile device has moved from a first location to a second location, transmitting the user profile to the mobile device for application to the home automation system, receiving data indicating that the mobile device has been at the second location for a period of time, comparing the period of time to a predetermined threshold period of time, and applying the home automation settings associated with the second location to the home automation system.
