Abstract:
A light converter apparatus can receive a first light beam originated from a first Li-Fi device with a first wavelength. The first light beam may have data encoded therein. The light converter apparatus can receive the first light beam and convert the first wavelength to a second wavelength, and transmit a second light beam with the second wavelength to a second Li-Fi device.
Abstract:
A system including a media device including a processor programmed to display a first media content item on a display device. The processor is further programmed to collect sensor data during display of first media content item. The data sensor data is related to one or more users determined to be in range to view the display device. The processor is further programmed to select a second media content item based on the sensor data, and insert the second media content item into the display of the first media content item.
Abstract:
A media content receiver receives a message including an address. The receiver processes the address to determine whether the address is associated with the media content receiver. Additionally, if a removable circuit device is installed in the receiver, the receiver processes the address to determine whether the address is associated with the installed removable circuit device. If the address is associated with the media content receiver, the receiver processes the message. If the address is associated with the removable circuit device, the receiver transfers the message to the removable circuit device, which then processes the message.
Abstract:
A system includes a media device including a processor programmed to receive sensor data indicating a field of view of a user and adjust a field of view of a video capture device in the media device to correspond to the field of view of the user. The processor receives media data from the video capture device and stores the media data, together with metadata including time indicia for each segment in the media data. The processor further receives user input to generate a media content item based on the media data. The user input specifies a start time of the media content item. The processor generates the media content item from the media data, starting with the segment of the media data having a time stamp corresponding to the start time; and stores the media content item.
Abstract:
Various embodiments facilitate the creation and presentation of a virtual experience. In one embodiment, the virtual experience is assembled from user model data corresponding to a three-dimensional representation of a user, user movement data corresponding to at least one movement characteristic of the user, user voice data corresponding to at least one vocal characteristic of the user, environment data corresponding to a three-dimensional representation of a location, and event data corresponding to a captured event at the location. The virtual experience is a virtual recreation of the captured event at the location, with the three-dimensional representation of the user, the vocal characteristic of the user, and the movement characteristic of the user inserted into the captured event.
Abstract:
A computing device is programmed to receive data collected from communications of a user. The computer identifies portions of the collected data including a keyword selected from a list of media content elements or lists of keywords associated with each of the media content elements. The computer associates each portion with a media content element. The computer further determines a score for each media content element based on at least one of the number of references, words included in the portion of collected referring to the media content element, and the voice quality of the portion of collected data referring to the media content element. Based on the scores, the computer assigns media content elements to the user. The computer recommends media content items to the user based at least in part on the media content elements assigned to the user.
Abstract:
In an item of media content, one or more essential segments and one or more non-essential segments are identified. One or more essential segments is selected for inclusion in playback of the item of media content. At least one of the one or more non-essential segments is identified for inclusion in the playback according to at least one data about a vehicle environment and vehicle navigation. The item of media content is provided for playback.
Abstract:
A customized content calendar may include reminders or invitations to access particular media content, where the reminders or invitations may be pushed to the content calendar based on user-specific preferences.
Abstract:
A method of communicating control information in a satellite broadcast communication system is presented. In the method, at least one copy of a control message set is transmitted from a control system by way of a satellite to a broadcast receiver. The control message set includes at least one control message. At least one copy of each of the control messages of the control message set is received at the broadcast receiver. A feedback message is transmitted from the broadcast receiver by way of a terrestrial communication link to the control system. The feedback message includes an indication that all of control messages of the control message set were received at the broadcast receiver. The feedback message is received at the control system. In response to receiving the feedback message, transmission of subsequent copies of the control message set is terminated at the control system.
Abstract:
A computing device includes a processor is programmed to determine that communications from users relate to the same subject included in a stored list of subjects. Each of the communications includes an audio portion. The computing device is further programmed to determine a score for each of the communications based at least in part on one or more of tone data, speed data, duration data, and volume data extracted from the respective audio portion, and allow one of the users, based on a respective user score, to assign the subject to a group.
