摘要： A method and mobile subscriber station in a broadband wireless communication system, wherein a receiver receives configuration information including a type field representing a type of a reduced connection identifier (CID) from a base station, and selectively applies the reduced CID based on the type field. The type of the reduced CID is determined based on a range of a basic CID of the mobile subscriber station connected to the base station. The type field includes at least two bits representing one of use of the basic CID and available types of the reduced CID. The available types represent available lengths of the reduced CID, and the reduced CID includes n Least Significant Bits (LSBs) of the basic CID, where n is a positive integer indicated by the type field.

Usage information sharing system includes: a first home network including at least one electronic device generating metadata with respect to human behavior; a first collecting device collecting metadata with respect to usage information from first home network; a second collecting device transmitting metadata of first home network that is received from the first collecting device to a second home network; and a second home network comprising at least one electronic device receiving the metadata from the second collecting device and performing an operation corresponding to the metadata. Accordingly, behavioral actions of a person in daily life can be dynamically recognized via a home network and home electronic devices and converted into metadata, and transmitted to another home network in real-time via a network. Thus, the experiences and feelings of a user can be dynamically shared.

摘要： A method for providing Location Based Services (LBS) in a mobile communication system is provided. Upon receipt of a location trigger for requesting location information of a Mobile Station (MS) from a location client, a Location Server (LS) transmits an authentication request message for requesting an identifier (ID) of an anchor authenticator for the MS to an Authorization, Authentication and Accounting server (AAA). Upon receipt of the authentication request message, the AAA transmits an authentication response message including an ID of the anchor authenticator to the LS. Upon receipt of the authentication response message, the LS transmits a Location Controller Identifier (LCID) request message for requesting an LCID of a Location Controller (LC) for the MS to the anchor authenticator. Upon receipt of the LCID request message, the anchor authenticator transmits an LCID response message including an LCID of the serving LC to the LS. Upon receipt of the LCID response message, the LS transmits a location report request message for requesting a report on location information of the MS to the serving LC. Upon receipt of the location report request message, the serving LC transmits a location report response message including location information of the MS to the LS.

摘要： A method for controlling operation modes of a medium access control layer by a mobile subscriber station in a broadband wireless access communication system including the mobile subscriber station and a serving base station providing service to the mobile subscriber station is provided. The method includes the steps of: mode-transiting into an idle mode when there is no data transmission between the serving base station and the mobile subscriber station during a predetermined first time interval in an awake mode; detecting movement of the mobile subscriber station in the idle mode into another paging zone covering a target base station, which is different from a paging zone covering the serving base station; and mode-transiting into the awake mode and performing location update together with the target base station when the movement of the mobile subscriber station is detected.
