The tubular member has inner and outer surfaces, and terminates at an end, with the inner surface at least in-part defining a central bore. A central body is provided with first and second ends. A tubing coupler is disposed at the second end of the central body, and is operable in an insertion mode of operation in a radially-reduced position for insertion into the central bore of the tubular member, and a coupling mode of operation in a radially-expanded position for grippingly and sealingly engaging the inner surface of the tubular member.

    摘要: An apparatus for effecting chemical treatment of a subterranean well bore comprises vertically spaced, inflatable packing elements which are run into the well on a fluid conduit, such as continuous coiled tubing, or the like. The apparatus permits circulation while being run into the well and, when positioned, effects the expansion of the two inflatable elements by pressured fluid introduced through the supporting fluid conduit. The applied pressure is trapped within the inflatable elements by axial movement of an inner body relative to an outer body, which effects the opening of fluid communication between the central fluid conduit and the well bore portion between the inflated packing elements, permitting testing of the sealing effectiveness of the packing elements, and the application of a treatment fluid. The same movement, accompanied by an increase in fluid pressure effects the opening of a fluid path to the well bore above the uppermost packing element. For deflation of the inflatable packing elements, the central body is moved downwardly by the spring, a circulation port is opened and a rupture disc is ruptured through the application of preselected higher fluid pressures. In order to compensate for a pressure variance as a result of the initation of the release sequence involved in deflating the inflatable packing elements, a pressure compensating member is provided, with the member having a cylindrical outer housing and a valve housing concentrically movable relative to and within the cylindrical housing.

    摘要: A fracturing and gravel packing tool has features that prevent well swabbing when the tool is picked up with respect to a set isolation packer. An upper or jet valve allows switching between the squeeze and circulation positions without risk of closing the wash pipe valve. The wash pipe valve can only be closed with multiple movements in opposed direction that occur after a predetermined force is held for a finite time to allow movement that arms the wash pipe valve. The jet valve can prevent fluid loss to the formation when being set down whether the crossover tool is supported on the packer or on the smart collet.

A media in the in-flow control element adjusts a cross-sectional flow area of the flow path by interacting with water. The media may be an inorganic solid, a water swellable polymer, or ion exchange resin beads. A method for controlling a fluid flow into a wellbore tubular may include conveying the fluid via a flow path from the formation into a flow bore of the wellbore; and adjusting a cross-sectional flow area of at least a portion of the flow path using a media that interacts with water. The method may include calibrating the media to permit a predetermined amount of flow across the media after interacts with water.
