Abstract:
A method for providing a GUI which uses a pointer with a sensuous effect showing that the pointer is moved by gravity is provided. The GUI providing method moves a pointer toward a specific position of a GUI-component if the pointer enters the GUI-component, and outputs at least one of an auditory effect and a tactile effect while the pointer moves toward the specific position. Accordingly, the user moves the pointer to the GUI-component more easily and enjoys entertainment.
Abstract:
A display apparatus includes: a display unit; a user interface (UI) generator which generates UI information to be displayed on the display unit; a user input unit which includes a touch pad; and a controller which controls the UI generator to display a plurality of selective items per item page on the display unit, to move a focus in accordance with a touch motion of the user, and to stop moving the focus if the focus is located at an outermost selective item positioned at an edge of the item page.
Abstract:
A pointing device and a display apparatus applying the same are provided. The pointing device corrects an error that occurs in a boundary between block in calculating a current location of the pointing device and calculates the current location. Accordingly, an error occurring in a boundary between blocks in calculating a current location of the pointing device is prevented.
Abstract:
A pointing device calculates a current position of the pointing device based on a point of time at which an incident signal is sensed, and compensates the current position based on a deviation of position of the pointing device which is calculated using the current position of the pointing device. Accordingly, a problem on the GUI caused by position distortion of the pointing device is minimized.
Abstract:
An apparatus for providing content based on user's interest and a method for providing content based on user's interest are provided. The apparatus for providing content generates content differently according to the user's interest in content and outputs the generated content. Accordingly, more specialized content are provided to a user interested in the currently displayed content.
Abstract:
Provided are an apparatus and a method of correcting a moving direction of a pedestrian, which can estimate a pedestrian location accurately by correcting error components that are included in a moving direction angle, detected by a terrestrial magnetism sensor. The apparatus for correcting a pedestrian moving direction, including a signal receiving unit which estimates a pedestrian location using a satellite signal from a satellite, a sensor unit which detects a first moving direction angle using a terrestrial magnetism sensor, and a control unit which calculates a second moving direction angle using a pedestrian location estimated by using a satellite signal of good reception quality and corrects the first moving direction angle detected by the terrestrial magnetism sensor by using the calculated second moving direction angle.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for providing position information of a wireless terminal are provided. The apparatus map-matches a position estimated using a wireless signal received from a satellite or a base station to output the map-matched result when a reception state of the wireless signal is good, and map-matches a position detected by dead reckoning to output the map-matched result when the reception state of the wireless signal is not good, thereby enabling a user to correctly detect the position of the wireless terminal regardless of the reception state of the wireless signal received from the satellite or the base station.
Abstract:
A video pick device for displaying a menu in a fixed position regardless of its rotation state. The photographing device comprises a geomagnetic sensor for detecting a predetermined output value corresponding to a geomagnetism; a display unit for displaying a predetermined menu through a display panel; and a control unit for checking the output value detected by the geomagnetic sensor to determine a pickup position, and controlling the display unit to have a display state of the menu changed in response to the determined pickup position. Accordingly, the menu display state on the display panel is changed in response to respective pickup positions to be displayed with the same form in a fixed direction with respect to the surface of the earth.
Abstract:
A geomagnetic sensor for computing an azimuth and a method thereof. The geomagnetic sensor includes a geomagnetic sensor module, including X, Y and Z axis fluxgates orthogonal to one another, for performing normalization for mapping output values of the X, Y and Z axis fluxgates onto a previously set normalization range using previously set normalization factors, an operation module for performing operation of new normalization factors based on a plurality of normalization values output from the geomagnetic sensor module when the geomagnetic sensor is swung within a previously set range, a tilt sensor module for computing a pitch angle and a roll angle, and a control module for providing the new normalization factors to the geomagnetic sensor module to allow the geomagnetic sensor module to perform renormalization and computing an azimuth using the output values renormalized by the geomagnetic sensor module and the pitch and roll angles computed during the renormalization. Therefore, it is possible to easily compute the normalization factors used for azimuth compensation.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a mobile terminal having a terrestrial magnetic sensor and a method and medium for controlling a mobile terminal. The mobile terminal compares a reference offset value of the terrestrial magnetic sensor and an offset value of the terrestrial magnetic sensor that is measured when the mobile terminal is being used, controls switching of an operation mode of the mobile terminal into a first safe mode on the basis of the comparison result. Further, the mobile terminal compares a reference signal variation of the terrestrial magnetic sensor and a terrestrial magnetic signal variation measured when the mobile terminal is being used, and controls switching of the operation mode of the mobile terminal into a second safe mode on the basis of the comparison result.
