Abstract:
A method, apparatus and system of centralized management of applications and desktop preferences without requiring configuration of client-side operating systems are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of a rich client device includes accessing an application installed on a server, and executing the application from the rich client device without installing the application on the rich client device (e.g., that may mean that an operating system of the rich client device is not modified to perform the function calls between the application and the operating system) when requested by a user of the rich client device through a binary module (e.g., the binary module may include required resources between the application and the operating system including a file system data, a Dynamic-Link library (DLL) data, etc.) of the server that emulates a set of function calls between the application and an operating system of the rich client device.
Abstract:
In an embodiment, for any structural change that is made to a relational database, a corresponding change is also made to the multidimensional database. In an embodiment, the system determines that a particular structure is not implemented on the multidimensional database system. Based on metadata that defines the structure that is supposed to exist in the multidimensional database, the appropriate structure is created.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for performing a path based quality check for a specified bit rate in a wavelength division multiplexing optical network is described. According to one embodiment of the invention, a method selects from a database one of the available paths as a currently selected path. The database stores a representation of the available paths from an access node of the optical network to other access nodes of the optical network. The method further determines a cumulative noise, cumulative chromatic dispersion, and a maximum allowable chromatic dispersion for the currently selected path. In addition, the method determines whether the currently selected path passes the path based quality check based on whether the cumulative noise is less than the maximum allowable noise at a specific bit rate and whether the chromatic dispersion is less than the maximum allowable chromatic dispersion at the specified bit rate.
Abstract:
Various aspects provide for bending a bending a lead frame of a semiconductor device package into a shape of an “L” and mounting the package on a substrate. A horizontal portion of the bent lead-frame is about parallel with a surface of the package. A vertical portion of the bent lead frame is configured to extend the horizontal portion beyond the surface of the package. A device may be mounted between the substrate and the package.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the development of a novel clone of Vetiver [Vetveria zizaniodes (L) Nash. syn. Chrysopogon zizaniodes (L.) Roberty; family Poaceae], named ‘CIMAP-KHUS 40’ characterised by somatic chromosome number 4x=40, larger stomata, fast growing deep penetrating roots, and seed infertility disabling its spread as a weed. This clone has unique ISSR and RAPD profiles that serve as DNA-fingerprints, and is developed from a unique diploid plant (2n=20). The invention document details all the pertinent data relating to this clone, its biological features and usefulness, and the method of its development.
Abstract:
A system and method for a motor management system includes a computer readable storage medium and a processing unit. The processing unit configured to determine a voltage value of a voltage input to an alternating current (AC) motor, determine a frequency value of at least one of a voltage input and a current input to the AC motor, determine a load value from the AC motor, and access a set of motor nameplate data, where the set of motor nameplate data includes a rated power, a rated speed, a rated frequency, and a rated voltage of the AC motor. The processing unit is also configured to estimate a motor speed based on the voltage value, the frequency value, the load value, and the set of nameplate data and also store the motor speed on the computer readable storage medium.
Abstract:
Skip based control logic for first in first out buffer is disclosed. In one embodiment, a host controller interface (HCI) device includes an isochronous receive first in first out (IRFIFO) buffer. The IRFIFO buffer includes a storage for storing an isochronous data packet received from a guest device. Further, the IRFIFO buffer includes a write pointer for pointing to a write address of the storage for a write operation. Furthermore, the IRFIFO buffer includes a read pointer for pointing to a read address of the storage for a read operation. In addition, the IRFIFO includes a control logic for incrementing the read pointer by a value of a skip parameter of a skip register if the isochronous data packet is not valid for the read operation.
Abstract:
A system and method for detecting cavitation in pumps for fixed and variable supply frequency applications is disclosed. The system includes a controller having a processor programmed to repeatedly receive real-time operating current data from a motor driving a pump, generate a current frequency spectrum from the current data, and analyze current data within a pair of signature frequency bands of the current frequency spectrum. The processor is further programmed to repeatedly determine fault signatures as a function of the current data within the pair of signature frequency bands, repeatedly determine fault indices based on the fault signatures and a dynamic reference signature, compare the fault indices to a reference index, and identify a cavitation condition in a pump based on a comparison between the reference index and a current fault index.
Abstract:
A tool can automate the process of downloading from a mainframe to a local area network (LAN). A back-end tool and a front-end tool can cooperate to accomplish the downloading process. Both tools can simplify the download process, avoiding complications and common errors. A user interface can provide features for simplifying the download process. Files can be downloaded from separate sub-areas on the mainframe to respective separate sub-areas on the LAN. Download settings can be saved and later retrieved via a name. Downloading for multiple software projects can be supported.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, a method for migrating data from a storage device includes accessing data on a storage device. The method also includes providing at least one interface that allows for selecting a first operating system stored on the storage device. The interface further allows for selecting one or more settings stored on the storage device. The method further includes initiating a migration of the one or more settings from the storage device. The method further includes storing the one or more settings.
