Abstract:
Payload 0 as a header is recorded to a head of a UDI area. In the case of recording payload 0 and other payloads, each of them is quintuple-recorded in order to take a countermeasure against errors. Other payloads such as payload 1 and the like are recorded after payload 0. In the case of quintuple-recording, the payloads of the same payload number are collectively quintuple-recorded. AUDI is recorded from a position after one second from start time S. The payloads are arranged in positions at 12-frame intervals. Thus, the five data which is multiple-written are not arranged in the radial direction of a disc but widely distributed onto tracks. Error resistance is improved. An interval of data is set to an optimum value in accordance with the number of multiple-writing times, a linear velocity, a recording position on the disc, and the like.
Abstract:
A writable recording medium, an identification information recording method, an information recording apparatus, an identification information playback method, and an information playback apparatus capable of easily determining whether or not a disc is genuine or copied. A first disc ID played back from a PMA (program memory area) is read and a PA (program area) is played back to read a second disc ID recorded in the PA. If they correspond to each other, a disc is determined to be a genuine disc. If they do not correspond to each other, the disc is determined to be a copied disc. Since a unique disc ID is recorded in the PMA when the disc is initialized, a disc ID of a genuine disc is different from a disc ID of a copied disc from the start. This difference is used as disc identification information. By recording a disc ID of a genuine disc in the PA, the determination can be realized.
Abstract:
An absolute time area is expanded by using an area of relatively low importance such as zero-data area and/or relative time area or the like in a Q channel in a sub-code in a recording format of a CD. Thus, an absolute time expression which can cope with a disc having a large capacity or the like can be performed. An absolute time expression is performed in a manner such that a digit of “100 minutes” is BCD expressed by using lower 4 bits in the 8-bit zero-data area ZERO. Thus, the absolute time of up to 999min59sec74frame can be expressed. A digit of “hour” is also expressed by using the lower 4 bits in the zero-data area. For example, identification information showing that a disc is a high density optical disc of large capacity is expressed by using the upper 4 bits in the zero-data area ZERO.
Abstract:
A recording medium at least having a first recording layer for recording first information and a second recording layer for recording second information. A discriminating signal indicating the playback mode is recorded on at least one of the first and second recording layers provided on the recording medium. The discriminating signal indicates a first playback mode for respectively reproducing the first information recorded in the first recording layer and the second information recorded on the second recording layer, or a second playback mode for calculating the first information recorded in the first recording layer and the second information recorded in the second recording layer to generate playback signals. A reproducing method and apparatus for the recording medium are also provided for reproducing the recording medium.
Abstract:
A data record medium on which a digital signal has been recorded in which the digital signal is composed of main data and a sub code, the sub code having time information representing reproduction elapsed time, and the sub code being recorded in association with the main data, wherein information that represents the reproduction elapsed time of the sub code is represented with a binary coded decimal number and address information in synchronization with the time information of the main data is represented with a binary number, the address information being contained in the main data.
Abstract:
Data broadcast data, which is broadcast in data broadcasts, is constructed by disposing, for example, EMD (Electric Music Distribution) links required to acquire song data as actual broadcast data, which is broadcast in actual broadcasts by a transmitting device, the actual broadcast data is transmitted, and the data broadcast data wherein the EMD links for the song data in the actual broadcasts are disposed, is transmitted periodically during the transmission of the actual broadcast data. The actual broadcast data and the data broadcast data are received by a user terminal, and the EMD links disposed in the data broadcast data are stored whenever there is an input of an operation to attach a “bookmark”. Thus, audio data such as songs in programs broadcast can easily be acquired by radio.
Abstract:
Program data and information associated with at least a consumer commodity that appears in a program of the program data are synchronously transmitted. The program data and the information associated therewith are received. The received program data is reproduced. The reproduced data is displayed on a displaying portion. Information associated with one selected from a plurality of consumer commodities displayed on the displaying portion is extracted and displayed. The viewer can buy a consumer commodity at a store corresponding to the extracted information.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a content-on-demand system capable of managing users' system-utilization frequencies such as download counts and connection times as well as changing the quality of a content transmitted from a server to a user in dependence on the system-utilization frequency of the user. Thus, a high-quality content or a highly functional content is provided to a user with a high system-utilization frequency. By differentiating contents provided to users in accordance with the system-utilization frequencies of the users, network businesses can be activated.
Abstract:
A data transmission method and apparatus for transmitting data such as encrypted content data, wherein a device that is to be a destination of transmission is authenticated and, if the device has not been authenticated, encrypted data read out from a storage unit is decrypted to give decoded data, which then is re-encrypted, based on innate key data acquired from the device that is to be the destination of transmission, to give re-encrypted data. The re-encrypted data is then transmitted to the device that is to be a destination of transmission.
