Abstract:
The present invention provides a circuit board including a first conductor layer forming a plurality of conductive circuit traces for interconnecting electronic components. The circuit board includes a substrate for supporting the first conductor layer and a pedestal formed from the substrate for supporting at least one of the plurality of electronic components. The pedestal provides a heat conduction path for conducting heat away from the at least one of the plurality of electronic components and a aperture in the substrate adjacent the pedestal for allowing a fluid to pass through the substrate.
Abstract:
A compression spring comprising a plurality of composite wave rings stacked and attached to one another in crest to crest configuration. Each of the wave rings has a plurality of alternating peaks and troughs wherein one peak and one adjacent trough define a wave having a wave height measured axially from the peak to the trough and the wave heights vary such that the compression spring provides a varying spring rate as the compression spring is compressed.
Abstract:
Provided is an apparatus for surface treatment of a throttle body structure with a first and a second electrode located in a housing electrically connected to a transformer. A rotating fixture base is also provided in the housing. Also provided is a method for surface treatment of a throttle body structure utilizing the above apparatus and a provided throttle body. A throttle body structure is provided and secured to said fixture base. The two electrodes are lowered into an engaged position in the center of the throttle body. Air is pumped towards the electrodes and voltage from the transformer is applied to the electrodes. The fixture base and throttle body are rotated. After treatment, the electrodes are then returned to the home position.
Abstract:
A brazing furnace includes a housing defining an interior environment having an inlet and an outlet, a plurality of heating elements mounted within the housing and adapted to heat the interior environment to an elevated temperature, and a conveyor belt extending through the housing and supported on a plurality of driven rollers whereby an object placed upon the conveyor belt at the inlet is transported through the inlet into the interior environment and out through the outlet. The conveyor belt includes a plurality of interconnected metal links and a thermal barrier coating applied to the metal links, thereby insulating the metal links and restricting the amount of thermal energy that is absorbed by the conveyor belt as the conveyor belt moves through the interior environment.
Abstract:
A system and method for detecting an identity of an occupant of a vehicle is disclosed. The system includes a sensor module mounted in a vehicle. The sensor module having an occupant sensor for acquiring an image of a member of the vehicle occupant to identify the vehicle occupant. The method includes activating a vehicle occupant identification system, acquiring an image of a member of the vehicle occupant, comparing the acquired image of the member with at least one stored image of a member, determining whether the acquired image of the member matches the at least one stored image, and assessing whether the vehicle occupant has been identified.
Abstract:
A stabilizer bar assembly includes a stabilizer bar having a bushing, a bushing retainer in mechanical compressive engagement with the bushing, and a mounting bracket adapted to connect the stabilizer bar to an automotive vehicle. The bushing retainer can have a uniform outer diameter such that the bushing is compressed uniformly over the entire length of the bushing retainer, or, alternatively, the bushing retainer can have a stepped outer diameter such that the bushing is compressed differently within discreet sections along the length of the bushing retainer. A method of inducing a pre-load onto a bushing that supports a stabilizer bar includes: providing a stabilizer bar, placing a bushing onto the stabilizer bar, placing a bushing retainer, having an first outer diameter onto the bushing, and reducing the outer diameter of the bushing retainer to a second diameter that is smaller than the first diameter.
Abstract:
The present invention provides in one embodiment, a system for encapsulating a substrate on a vehicle structure. The system includes the substrate, the vehicle structure and a package substrate. The substrate has a top portion and a bottom portion. The vehicle structure is operatively connected to the bottom portion of the substrate. The package substrate has a plurality of layers, where the package substrate is operatively connected to the top portion of the substrate. The package substrate conforms to a periphery area of the top portion of the substrate.
Abstract:
A fuel delivery system and method are described that can provide different pressures of the supply of fuel to a power source such as an engine or a motor. The engine or the motor can power, for example, a vehicle or a generator. The fuel delivery system includes a fuel supply line to deliver fuel from a fuel tank to the engine or motor. A fuel pump outlet line delivers fuel from the tank to the fuel supply line. An in-tank return line returns fuel from a fuel return line to the tank. A regulator connects with the fuel pump outlet line to maintain a pressure of the fuel pump outlet line at or below a pressure set-point of the regulator. A solenoid valve connects with the in-tank return line such that a set-point pressure of the regulator is utilized when the solenoid valve closes the in-tank return line.
Abstract:
A differential gear assembly including a differential housing and a ring gear mounted externally to the differential housing by a clamp. The differential housing and the ring gear each include an annular flange extending therefrom and the clamp includes a pocket which is adapted to receive the annular flanges therein. In another aspect, the flanges include opposing angled surfaces and the pocket includes opposing angled sides, whereby when the clamp is placed to the flanges, the angled surfaces of the flanges engage the angled sides of the clamp such that the clamp provides an axial clamping force to the flanges.
Abstract:
An apparatus for a continuously variable semi-active suspension system using centrally located yaw rate and accelerometer sensors. The yaw rate sensors measure both pitch and roll. The vertical accelerometers measure bounce. Locating the sensors near the center not only centralizes the sensors, reducing wiring, but also reduces noise and simplifies calculations by not having to project measurements to the center of gravity.
