    摘要: A mobile communication system is designed with an input circuit coupled to receive a first plurality of signals (rj(i+τj), i=0−N−1) during a first time (T0-T1) from an external source and coupled to receive a second plurality of signals (rj (i+τj), i=N−2N−1) during a second time (T1-T2) from the external source. The input circuit receives each of the first and second plurality of signals along respective first and second paths (j). The input circuit produces a first input signal (Rj1) and a second input signal (Rj2) from the respective first and second plurality of signals. A correction circuit is coupled to receive a first estimate signal (αj1), a second estimate signal (αj2) and the first and second input signals. The correction circuit produces a first symbol estimate ({tilde over (S)}1) in response to the first and second estimate signals and the first and second input signals. The correction circuit produces a second symbol estimate ({tilde over (S)}2) in response to the first and second estimate signals and the first and second input signals.

    摘要: A wireless communication system (10). The system comprises a user station (12). The user station comprises despreading circuitry (22) for receiving and despreading a plurality of slots received from at least a first transmit antenna (A121) and a second transmit antenna (A122) at a transmitting station (14). Each of the plurality of slots comprises a first channel (DPCH) comprising a first set of pilot symbols and a second channel (PCCPCH) comprising a second set of pilot symbols. The user station further comprises circuitry (50) for measuring a first channel measurement (α1,n) for each given slot in the plurality of slots from the first transmit antenna and in response to the first set of pilot symbols in the given slot. The user station further comprises circuitry (50) for measuring a second channel measurement (α2,n) for each given slot in the plurality of slots from the second transmit antenna and in response to the second set of pilot symbols in the given slot. The user station further comprises circuitry (52) for measuring a phase difference value (φ2(n)) for each given slot in the plurality of slots in response to the first channel measurement and the second channel measurement for the given slot and in response to a ninety degree rotation of the given slot relative to a slot which was received by the despreading circuitry immediately preceding the given slot.

    摘要: A technique is provided for implementing adaptive thresholds associated with HS-SCCH detection schemes; and when applied to any HS-SCCH detection scheme, the resulting false alarm probability curves are more robust to amplitude variations of the different shared control channels. The technique has low computational complexity and low storage requirements for the estimator. Such lower complexity detection schemes have been found to outperform more complex schemes when adaptive thresholds are applied.

    摘要: A frequency hopping system such as a Bluetooth system (300) can reduce the number of RF channels it hops during a normal hopping sequence cycle providing for a Reduced Hopping Sequence (RHS). A communication unit operating in the system such as the Bluetooth master unit (302) determines if any of the RF channels has interference. If any of the channels has interference, the Bluetooth master sends a message to one or more slave units (304, 306) informing them of which channels will be removed from the hopping sequence due to potential interference problems. The units will then use the new RHS for their transmissions, thus avoiding the interference problems (e.g., both avoiding interference in the system's receivers and avoiding creating interference on frequencies that are already occupied by other neighboring systems).
