摘要: Implementations described and claimed herein provide a system and methods for balancing network loads across distinct provider networks. In one implementation, a virtual network representative of at least a first provider network is established having at least one interconnection point where network traffic is exchanged between the first provider network and a second provider network and having at least one provider edge port and at least one potential interconnection point. A measurement of a bandwidth between the at least one provider edge port and the at least one interconnection point is obtained. A measurement of a distance between the at least one provider edge port and a geographically closest of the at least one potential interconnection point or the at least one interconnection point is obtained. A network load indication for the first provider network as a function of the bandwidth measurement and the distance measurement is obtained.

摘要: In an apparatus according to one embodiment of the present disclosure, a communications link comprises a first device and a second device communicating with each other via the communications link at a plurality of different speeds. However, prior to communicating via the communications link for the first time at a second speed, the first device and second device complete a first training cycle at the second speed. Further, during this first training cycle for the second speed, the first training cycle for the second speed will pause before the first training cycle at the second speed completes, and the first device and second device communicate at a first speed for a period of time before returning to the paused first training cycle at the second speed. When the paused first training cycle for the second speed continues, the first training cycle for the second speed will continue where it had paused.

摘要: Mechanisms are provided for optimizing files while allowing application servers access to metadata associated with preoptimized versions of the files. During file optimization involving compression and/or compaction, file metadata changes. In order to allow file optimization in a manner transparent to application servers, the metadata associated with preoptimized versions of the files is maintained in a metadata database as well as in an optimized version of the files themselves.

摘要: A climbing screen support system comprising a support rail fixable to a surface adjacent an edge of a structure; a mounting arm slidably securable to the rail so as to confine movement of the mounting arm in a linear direction along the support rail; and a climbing shoe attachable to an end of the mounting arm, wherein the support system is configured such that the mounting arm may be securely mounted to the support rail remote from the edge of the structure and subsequently slideable along the support rail such that the climbing shoe protrudes from the edge of the structure by a predetermined distance.

摘要: An automated data storage library employing a media accessor, an optical disk drive and a removable disk media. The media accessor includes a cartridge shell gripper. The optical disk drive includes a tape cartridge slot. The removable disk media includes a tape cartridge shell having a structural configuration operable to be physically engaged by the cartridge shell gripper and operable to be physically inserted into the tape cartridge slot by the cartridge shell gripper. The removable disk media further includes one or more optical disks disposed within the tape cartridge shell. A recording surface of each optical disk is extractable, partially or entirely, from the tape cartridge shell by the optical disk drive for writing data onto the optical disk and/or reading data from the optical disk.
