Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a wireless device to perform methods to implement mechanisms for performing a listen again after talk procedure to detect collisions over an access medium. The wireless device may determine a frequency and configuration of modified transmission frames for transmission over an access medium (licensed or unlicensed) and may further determine a timing of the modified transmission frames within a transmission occasion. The wireless device may detect, during a listening period of the modified transmission frame, a collision and may adjust, based, at least in part, on the detected collision, a remaining transmission schedule for the transmission schedule and/or LBT parameters.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a wireless device and base station using a first radio access technology to monitor traffic load on a second radio access technology. A wireless device may monitor traffic of the second radio access technology and may transmit one or more traffic load reports to the base station. The base station may, based on the report(s) and its own observations, determine whether a hidden network of the second radio access technology is present at the wireless device.

Abstract: A device may monitor a first search space (SS) corresponding to an active first component carrier (CC), and detect first control information (CI) that identifies an inactive second CC. In response to receiving the first CI, the device may activate the inactive second CC to make it an active second CC. The device may also set up a second SS corresponding to the active second CC, and may monitor the second SS to schedule the active second CC and receive a physical data channel. The first CI may also include additional scheduling information and a start time for reception of the physical data channel. The device may operate in a first bandwidth part (BWP) according to a first communication configuration associated with the first bandwidth part, and may switch to operating in a second BWP and to operating according to a second communication configuration associated with the second BWP.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a wireless device to perform simultaneous uplink activity for multiple RATs in the same carrier using frequency division multiplexing. The wireless device may establish a first wireless link with a first base station according to a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second wireless link with a second base station according to a second RAT. The first base station may provide a first cell operating in a first system bandwidth and the second base station may provide a second cell operating in a second system bandwidth. The wireless device may determine whether the wireless device has uplink activity scheduled according to both the first RAT and the second RAT. If so, the wireless device may perform uplink activity for both the first RAT and the second RAT in the first system bandwidth using frequency division multiplexing.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to using a wake up signal in conjunction with cellular communication in unlicensed spectrum. A cellular base station may provide a wake up signal on an unlicensed frequency channel after successful completion of a listen-before-talk procedure. The wake up signal may include a preamble configured for coherent detection, and information indicating channel occupancy time for a cellular communication by the cellular base station and a cell identifier for the cellular base station. A wireless device may monitor the unlicensed frequency channel for a wake up signal, and may determine whether to monitor the unlicensed frequency channel for control channel signaling based on whether a wake up signal is received, and potentially also based on the contents of the wake up signal if a wake up signal is received.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a wireless device to perform methods for determining resources for scheduling side-link communications. The resources may be semi-persistent and/or dynamic resources. A user equipment device (UE) may determine a resource map for use in scheduling semi-persistent resources for side-link communications with at least one wireless node. The UE may transmit a resource map request message indicating preferred resource blocks, where each resource block may be defined by a time and a frequency. The UE may receive a confirmation message that may include a report regarding a set of resource blocks. The set of resource blocks may be from the preferred resource blocks included in the resource map request message. The UE may determine, based, at least in part, on the confirmation message, resource blocks to be used for the side-link communications and initiate the side-link communications using the determined resource blocks.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for performing timing synchronization between a base station and a user equipment device within an unlicensed spectrum band. In some scenarios, beamforming tracking may also be performed. Upon determining that a transmission medium within the unlicensed spectrum band is available for transmission, a base station may transmit a plurality of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs), or a plurality of copies of one SSB, with associated remaining minimum system information (RMSI) blocks, within a single time instance within a SSB burst window. The SSBs may be transmitted at different frequency positions and according to distinct beamforming configurations. The SSBs and RMSI blocks may be configured such that a receiving user equipment device may determine the time-domain, and optionally the frequency-domain, position of the SSB and RMSI within the SSB burst window, to allow timing synchronization and optionally beamforming tracking.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to performing cell measurements using configured reference signals while in an inactive state in a cellular communication system. A wireless device may receive an indication of reference signal resources configured for use by the wireless device in the inactive state from a cellular base station that provides a serving cell to the wireless device. The reference signal resources may include channel state information reference signal resources that are aligned in time and/or frequency with a control resource set provided for a wakeup occasion of the wireless device while in the inactive state. The wireless device may perform cell measurements using the indicated reference signal resources while in the inactive state.

Abstract: Mechanisms enabling link-budget-limited (LBL) devices to more effectively perform random access may include: (1) broadcasting a Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH) configuration index (PCI) reserved for LBL devices; (2) configuring LBL devices to use a PCI that is offset from the conventional PCI of current cell; (3) configuring LBL devices to transmit PRACH messages using an alternative set of subframes, different from conventionally-defined subframe set; (4) configuring LBL devices to transmit PRACH messages on odd frames when the conventional PRACH configuration specifies even frames; (5) configuring LBL devices to generate and use extra PRACH preambles that are not used by non-LBL devices; (6) configuring LBL devices to use group B preambles while non-LBL devices are configured to use group A preambles; and (7) boosting power of a random access response message after an Nth random access failure with preamble conforming to an LBL-reserved pattern of preambles.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to energy budgeted cellular service recovery techniques. A wireless device may determine one or more energy budgets for service recovery. It may be determined that cellular service loss is currently occurring. Cellular service recovery may be attempted, where service recovery scan timing for the attempt to recover cellular service is determined based at least in part on the one or more energy budgets for service recovery.
