Abstract:
Data in tables with foreign key relationship is synchronized in batches employing a two-pass process during playback based on whether the foreign key constraint is a linear dependency, self-referencing, or cyclic. A separate table containing a primary key of records and database timestamp columns for change operations may also be used for batch synchronization in addition to or instead of adding database timestamp columns to existing tables.
Abstract:
An end cap (30) for sealing an end of a closure about a cable member directed therein. The end cap (30) includes a wall member (32) having a first surface (34), an exterior surface and an outer circumferential edge. A longitudinal port (40) extends through the wall member (32) from the first surface to the exterior surface. The port (40) has a transverse cross-sectional shape defined by first and second lobed portions (42, 44) joined at a waist (46), the cross-sectional shape of the port configured for receiving a cable assembly having a corresponding transverse cross-section.
Abstract:
A magnetic recording media with a multilayer structure and methods for forming the media are described. The magnetic recording media includes a substrate, an underlayer on top of the substrate and a magnetic layer over the underlayer. The underlayer includes a CrN film formed by sputter depositing chromium in the presence of nitrogen or nitrogen containing compounds.
Abstract:
A tilted magnetic recording medium comprises a layer of magnetic material having a magnetic easy axis defined by tilted alignment of a particular crystalline phase of the magnetic material. A film of (101) and (011) textured L10 phase of a tetragonal crystalline magnetic material has crystalline c-axes oriented 45° to the medium surface normal. The L10 crystalline magnetic alloy comprises a first element selected from the group consisting of Co and Fe, and a second element selected from the group consisting of Pt and Pd. A seedlayer comprising a bcc or B2 crystal structure with a natural texture of (110) creates interfacial stress with the magnetic layer, giving rise to a pure (101) and (011) textured L10 crystalline film. A textured underlying surface facilitates preferential formation of the seedlayer and subsequent growth of the magnetic material to achieve tilted magnetic directions perpendicular to the recording tracks.
Abstract:
A data storage medium for perpendicular recording has a substrate and a ferromagnetic layer on the substrate for storing data bits. The ferromagnetic layer has a plurality of elongate grains of magnetizable material extending perpendicular to the substrate which form magnetic domains representative of data. Each magnetic domain is separated from adjacent magnetic domains by a bit edge domain wall region. Each elongate grain has a perpendicular height that is greater than a width of the bit edge domain wall region.
Abstract:
A thin film structure comprises a first layer including a first plurality of grains of magnetic material having a first intergranular exchange coupling, and a second layer positioned adjacent to the first layer and including a second plurality of grains of magnetic material having a second intergranular exchange coupling, wherein the second intergranular exchange coupling is larger than the first intergranular exchange coupling and wherein the Curie temperature of the first layer is greater than the Curie temperature of the second layer. A data storage system including the thin film structure is also provided.

Abstract:
An image finish information generation unit included in an image-forming system is configured to generate an expected image finish and an input setting screen to be used for receiving setting inputs from an operator based on image data obtained by reading a document by a scanner or through a network, and to instruct a display unit to display the image finish and the setting screen before print processing. If the operator makes further setting inputs through the input setting screen, another expected image finish screen is generated and displayed, incorporating the setting inputs. Through a spatial item identification unit and a language item identification unit, spatial position information received by a touch panel is identified as a spatial setting item, and voice information through a microphone is recognized by the language item identification as a language setting item. In addition, related setting items are prepared and displayed in a hierarchy.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method of polishing a substrate, which method comprises the steps of (i) providing a polishing composition, (ii) providing a substrate comprising at least one metal layer, and (iii) abrading at least a portion of the metal layer with the polishing composition to polish the substrate. The polishing composition comprises an abrasive and a liquid carrier, wherein the abrasive comprises metal oxide particles having a surface with a silane compound adhered to a portion thereof and a polymer adhered to the silane compound and wherein the polymer is selected from the group consisting of water-soluble polymers and water-emulsifiable polymers. The invention also provides a polishing composition as described above, wherein the total amount of abrasive particles present in the polishing composition is no greater than about 20% by weight of the polishing composition, and the metal oxide particles do not comprise zirconia.
