摘要: A magnetic recording medium is disclosed which is comprised of a non-magnetic support base having a magnetic layer on one surface and a silicone oil layer formed on the opposite surface. The silicone oil layer does not produce dropouts and eliminates scraping and therefore eliminates dust particles that collect and build up in the area of the magnetic head. The silicone layer is formed from a silicone-containing compound having a viscosity of at least 6,000 centistokes at 25.degree. C.

摘要: A process for producing a magnetic recording medium is disclosed. The process involves coating a non-magnetic base with magnetic coating solution containing fine ferromagnetic particles and a binder comprising nitrocellulose, polyol and an isocyanate having at least two isocyanato groups. In the process, the web having 0.3 to 3 wt % of the residual solvent in the magnetic layer is calendered, and the calendered web is then dried thoroughly.

摘要: In a method for super calendering a magnetic recording element comprising a non-magnetic flexible support having provided thereon a magnetic layer mainly composed of ferromagnetic powders and a binder using a super calendering roll assembly having a metal roll in contact with the magnetic layer side and an elastic roll in contact with the support side opposite the metal roll, which comprises pressing the surface of the magnetic layer to thereby super calender the same, at least the surface area of the elastic roll comprises a polyamide resin having a Shore hardness D of at least about 70 and having a linear expansion coefficient of at least about 8 .times. 10.sup.-5 /.degree. C.An improved super calendering roll assembly for magnetic tape which comprises a metal roll axis having provided therearound an elastic roll and further having provided endplates around the metal roll axis at two positions which are longer than the length of the elastic roll in the direction of the axis thereof and are at a length corresponding to the thermal expansion point of the elastic roll, at least the surface area of the elastic roll thus provided comprising a polyamide resin as defined above.Magnetic tapes having excellent surface properties can thus be obtained, which are suitable for use as video tapes, memory tapes and audio tapes requiring decreased chromanoise and high sensitivity.

摘要: By incorporating 5 to 15 parts by weight of a finely divided powder having high hardness and a particle size of less than 10.mu. with 100 parts by weight of graphite powder with 20 to 50 parts by weight of a binder in a graphite layer of a magnetic recording medium which comprises a support, a magnetizable layer and a graphite layer provided on the opposite side of the support from the magnetizable layer, a reduction in the abrasion and the destruction of the graphite layer during running can be reduced.

摘要: An abrasive tape comprises a substrate and an abrasive layer, which is overlaid on the substrate and is constituted of fine abrasive grains and a binder, wherein the abrasive layer contains an alkyl sulfosuccinic acid salt ester. The abrasive tape gives little scratching and little chipping to materials to be abraded and has a sufficiently high abrasive powder.

摘要: An abrasive tape comprises a flexible substrate and an abrasive layer which is overlaid on the flexible substrate and which contains abrasive grains and a binder. The abrasive grains comprise first abrasive grains, which have a mean grain diameter within the range of 0.07 .mu.m to 0.40 .mu.m and a Mohs hardness within the range of 5 to 7, and second abrasive grains, which have a mean grain diameter within the range of 0.20 .mu.m to 0.60 .mu.m and a Mohs hardness not lower than 8.5.
