摘要: An abrasive article can include a body including a first portion coupled to a second portion in a radial plane. The body can include a central opening extending in an axial direction of the body through the first portion and through the second portion. The central opening can include a circumferential surface defining an inner diameter of the body. The circumferential surface can be defined by at least a portion of the first portion and at least a portion of the second portion. The first portion can include first abrasive particles contained within a first bond material, including an inorganic material, and the second portion can include second abrasive particles contained within a second bond material, including an organic material. The organic material can include epoxy. In an embodiment, the second portion comprises an elongation-at-fracture of less than 2.7%, a Stiffness Value of at least 8.3, or a combination thereof.

摘要: The design of a stainless-steel cylindrical tool for manual grinding and polishing of cement-based thin sample (two cylinders one within the other, connected by the movable threaded holder with a plate, that passes through the middle) enables very precise removal of sample layers to its thickness of 1-mm ( 1/32 inch) and less. The squared, young aged sample rests on the circular plate on a holder, that can be slowly and safely rotated during thin layer removal, to obtain a smooth and flat sample surface, which can produce sharp digital images in ESEM, necessary for detailed and accurate image analysis. The cylindrical tool can be reassembled. It is reusable, easy to maintain and clean. Its design is practical since inner cylinder can be replaced if damaged, with the identically designed inner cylinder or with differently designed inner cylinder adjusted to another sample size.

摘要: A bonded abrasive wheel comprises magnetizable abrasive particles retained in an organic binder. The bonded abrasive wheel has a central portion adjacent to a central hub, an outer circumference and a rotational axis extending through the central hub. The magnetizable abrasive particles adjacent to the central hub are aligned at an average angle of less than 35 degrees with respect to the rotational axis, and the magnetizable abrasive particles adjacent to the outer circumference of the bonded abrasive wheel are aligned at an average angle that is from 35 and 90 degrees, inclusive, with respect to the rotational axis. Methods of making a bonded abrasive wheel are also disclosed.

The shaped abrasive agglomerate particle has a longest agglomerate lineal dimension on a surface and a shortest agglomerate dimension perpendicular to the longest agglomerate lineal dimension, and the longest agglomerate lineal dimension is at least twice the shortest agglomerate dimension. The abrasive agglomerate particles are useful in abrasive articles. Methods of making the shaped abrasive agglomerate particle and abrading a workpiece are also described.

摘要: An abrasive tool includes a support, on which a plurality of abrasive flaps is arranged. The abrasive flaps each have a base and abrasive material, which is attached to the base by means of a binder. To increase the useful life and total material abrasion, the abrasive flaps are reinforced by a cured filling resin. The reinforcement of the abrasive flaps reduces the cyclical deflection thereof around a zero position due to workpiece machining, thereby avoiding increased wear on the abrasive flaps.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for producing an alumina based abrasive particle (1), comprising at least the following steps: forming a sol as a solution or dispersion of alumina particles, gelling the sol by adding gelling agents, forming shaped bodies from the gel using an additive procedure, drying and firing the shaped bodies while retaining the previously achieved geometry of the abrasive particles. Hereby, it is provided that an optically binding binder is added to the sol and/or the gel, the gel is applied additively layer by layer and the binder is set using electromagnetic radiation so as to form the shaped bodies. The produced abrasive particle may be formed, in particular, by six intersecting or overlapping triangular volume regions.

The polycrystalline diamond includes a first volume including an interstitial material and a second volume having a leached region that includes boron and titanium. A method of fabricating a polycrystalline diamond element may include positioning a first volume of diamond particles adjacent to a substrate, the first volume of diamond particles including a material that includes a group 13 element, and positioning a second volume of diamond particles adjacent to the first volume of diamond particles such that the first volume of diamond particles is disposed between the second volume of diamond particles and the substrate, the second volume of diamond particles having a lower concentration of material including the group 13 element than the first volume of diamond particles.
