摘要： An interoperable workflow management system controls an information disclosing range of a workflow case to prevent transmission delay even when the communication path has a small transmission capacity such that cancellation of the case is guaranteed and the status of processing of the case in its destination can be immediately known. To implement the system, workflow irrelevant data or pointer information indicating the data is selectively transmitted to the destination in accordance with the workflow management system thereof. At cancellation of the case, the irrelevant data is replaced with canceling data. When a request including pointer information for the workflow irrelevant data is received from the destination system, it is assumed that the workflow case is in process.

摘要： With respect to a data transfer over a network, data is stored in each cache of the network and the retrieving processing following the second retrieving processing is executed by using a cache, thereby resulting in a transfer amount being decreased. Statistics information of a data transfer over the network is obtained. When transfer data is stored in a low-speed storage such as a disk, only data of high access frequency is stored and data of low access frequency is discarded, thereby solving such a problem that a speed of a disk apparatus becomes a bottleneck.

The stroll terminal starts a stroll on the basis of a region name inputted as an initial value, and automatically sets a route on the basis of the interest information of a user. Information about the route is provided from contribution server and is appropriately displayed.

摘要： A text retrieval method and a text retrieval apparatus for retrieving texts based on a handwritten keyword inputted from an optical character reader are provided. Respective characters of a keyword string are recognized by character recognizing device, and recognized characters of respective characters are stored in a recognized character table. At least one recognized character is extracted as proposed recognized characters of respective characters from recognized characters stored in the recognized character table, and a plurality of character strings are generated by combining one proposed character among proposed recognized characters of respective characters with one another and stored in a keyword string table. A retrieval command string for retrieving texts including at least one character string among generated character strings out of a text database is generated, and the text database is retrieved by the retrieval command, thus obtaining a retrieved result.

摘要： A system for changing a natural language sentence input by a user. The sentence expresses an operation specification which is translated to an operation specification command in a machine language for an operation specification object such as database. The system has a function to define specific items necessary for changing the natural language input sentence to the operation specification command without forcing the user to decide complicated definitions related to the operation specification object. The system refers to an operation specification object information table which stores at least one of the following acquired from the user:(1) A unit word or an interrogative word (phrase) with respect to each of the items in the database;(2) An explanatory sentence with respect to each of the items in the database; and(3) An item pair which is specifiable as a join condition of each of the items in the database.
