    Abstract: Systems and methods described herein are provided for radiation pattern and modulation (RPM) based on channel-state information (CSI). The method may comprise receiving a set of bits; dividing the set of bits into at least three groups, wherein at least one group is size limited by a diversity order and selection factor applied by a CSI controller; mapping the groups to distinct control signals; generating a modulated RF signal and selecting at least one configurable antenna and a configuration of said at least one antenna based on the control signals; and transmitting the modulated RF signal through the at least one configured antenna.

    Abstract: Random access may be provided for integrated access and backhaul (IAB) for New Radio (NR). A wireless transmit/receive unit may send (e.g., to a gNB) a preamble in a random access occasion (RO). One or more of the preamble or an RO resource partition of the RO may indicate a node type of the WTRU. The WTRU may receive (e.g., from the gNB) a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) that indicates (e.g., includes) one or more random access responses (RARs). The WTRU may determine that the PDCCH indicates a WTRU RAR and an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node RAR. If the sent node type is a WTRU node type, the WTRU may receive (e.g., from the gNB) the WTRU RAR at a first time and frequency location indicated by the PDCCH.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for use in a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) for receiving system information. A WTRU receives a broadcast signal from a gNB, wherein the broadcast signal includes system information. The WTRU determines configuration information associated with the received system information and the WTRU transmits a signal to the gNB using the determined configuration information associated with the received system information. The configuration information includes an indication regarding whether the WTRU is able to include any one or a combination of a request signal or a feedback signal in the signal transmitted to the gNB. The transmitted signal to the gNB may include a preamble that indicates system information block (SIB) request information. The transmitted signal to the gNB may include a control field that indicates additional SIB request information. The transmitted signal may provide feedback for the received system information. The WTRU then receives system information from the gNB in response to the transmitted signal. The received system information in response to the transmitted signal is one or more SIBs.

    Abstract: Systems, procedures, and instrumentalities are disclosed for synchronizing a signal burst, signal design, and/or system frame acquisition. A synchronization signal (SS) block or burst may be received. The SS block or burst may include a primary synchronization signal (PSS), a secondary synchronization signal (SSS), and/or a Physical Broadcast Channel (PBCH). A first cell ID may be determined and/or a plurality of SSS sequences may be generated. An m0 value (e.g., a first cyclic shift) may be determined from a set of m0 values, for example, based on the generated plurality of SSS sequences. An n1 value (e.g., a second cyclic shift) may be determined from a set of n1 values. A second cell ID may be determined, for example, based on the m0 value and the n1 value.     Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for advanced coding on retransmission of data and/control information. The systems methods, and instrumentalities may include one or more of the following: chase combining for retransmission; incremental redundancy (IR) hybrid automatic repeat request (IR-HARQ); or incremental freezing (IF) HARQ. IF-HARQ may use lower coding rates and/or increased mother codeword length. IF-HARQ for retransmission with joint encoding and transmission of failed data and/or control message(s) (e.g., new control message(s)) may be used. This may include one or more of the following: increased priority for retransmission data and mapping retransmitted data to more reliable bit channels; or allocating more PC frozen bits for retransmitted data. A HARQ decision may be provided. For example, a decision may be made between the use of chase combining (CC) HARQ, IR-HARQ, or IF-HARQ. For IF-HARQ, additional decisions may be made.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for error check-based synchronization. Physical Broadcast Channel (PBCH) data may be determined. A scrambling (e.g., a first scrambling) of the PBCH data may be scrambled via a sequence (e.g., a first sequence). The first sequence may be based on a cell ID and/or timing information. Error check bits may be attached to the scrambled PBCH data and to the timing information. The error check bits may include one or more cyclic redundancy check (CRC) bits. The scrambled PBCH data, the timing information (e.g., the unscrambled timing information), and/or the attached error check bits may be polar encoded. The polar encoding may result in polar encoded bits. A scrambling (e.g., a second scrambling) of the polar encoded bits may be scrambled via a sequence (e.g., a second sequence). The first sequence and the second sequence may be different. The polar encoded bits may be transmitted.

    Abstract: Communication devices, systems and methods for performing multi-layer packet coding (MLPC) in a wireless system are provided. The MLPC includes segmenting a data stream into a plurality of data segments, encoding each of the plurality of data segments into a plurality of forward error correction (FEC) codewords, performing a first exclusive OR (XOR) operation on the plurality of FEC codewords to generate a plurality of first layer parity codewords, performing a second XOR operation on the plurality of first layer parity codewords to generate at least one second layer parity codeword, and transmitting at least one of: the plurality of FEC codewords, the plurality of first layer parity codewords, or the at least one second layer parity codeword.
