    摘要: A method of treating a spent potliner after use in an aluminium smelting process, the method comprising crushing and classifying the spent potliner, placing the classified and crushed spent potliner in a furnace at a temperature greater than 450° C., heating the spent potliner to a temperature greater than 450° C., mixing the heated spent potliner with water to produce reaction gases and residue, burning the reaction gases, mixing the residue with water in a well ventilated area for a period of weeks to cure the residue. The method also embraces blending the cured residue with other chemicals and minerals to provide specific mineral products.

    摘要: Disclosed herein are three configurations for an electrochemical cell to generate electric power from the reaction of oxygen or air with porous plates or particulates of carbon, arranged such that waste heat from said electrochemical cells is allowed to flow upwards through a storage chamber or port containing raw carbonaceous fuel. These configurations allow combining the separate processes of devolatilization, pyrolysis and electrochemical conversion of carbon to electric power into a single unit process, fed with raw fuel and exhausting high BTU gases, electric power, and substantially pure CO2 during operation.

    摘要: An incandescent lamp may be formed from a shell having an exterior side and an interior side defining a cavity, and with an internal wall defining a through passage extending from the exterior side to the interior side. A light source is located in the cavity facing the interior side, and coupled to electric lamp leads extending through the passage. A heat radiator assembly is adjacent the exterior side, and includes heat-dissipating surfaces exposed to air. An integral power supply is enclosed in the heat radiator assembly and electrically connected to the light source through the electric lamp leads. A threaded base having exterior electrical contact points is electrically connected through base leads to the integral power supply. The shell, radiator assembly and base are mechanically coupled as a unit. A lens may cover the shell to enclose the cavity and light source.

    摘要: Disclosed is a safety restraint design controller for controlling the design of a safety restraint system so that a predetermined desired level of an occupant's response (89) is produced. The controller has a database (85) for storing an occupant restraint factor response model (90). The model (90) interrelates at least one predetermined restraint factor (88) with the occupant response (89), the restraint factors having a level that is indicative of setting values for controlling the safety restraint design. A database engine connected to the database (85) determines a level for the occupant response (89) based upon the model and upon a first level of the restraint factors. An optimizer is connected to the database engine for determining a second level of the restraint factors (88), which produces the desired level of the occupant response based upon the desired level of the occupant response (89) from the database engine; whereby the safety restraints design is controlled based upon the determined second level of the restraint factors that produces the desired level of the safety response.

    摘要: A drive disconnect device is provided in which input and output shafts are provided in splined engagement. The splines are aligned with the axes of the input and output shafts such that the force acting between the shafts in a separating direction is substantially invariant of the torque being transmitted. The shafts are spring biased to a disengaged position. The biasing force is resisted by a meltable restraining element which is arranged to melt when the temperature exceeds an acceptable value so as to allow the spring to cause the shafts to disengage from one another.
