    Abstract: A chuck for a laser cutting/engraving rotary fixture comprises a chuck plate having a chuck plate axis of rotation and at least two mount brackets spaced symmetrically radially with respect to one another about the chuck plate axis of rotation. Each mount bracket comprises an inclined contact surface and each mount bracket is rotatably attached to the chuck plate about the mount bracket axis of rotation. The inclined contact surface can be selectively rotated between a first position with the inclined contact surface inclined toward the mount plate axis of rotation and a second position with the inclined contact surface inclined away from the mount plate axis of rotation. An effectively concave contact surface is defined with each of the inclined contact surfaces in the first position. An effectively convex contact surface is defined with each of the mount brackets in the second position for engaging an inner diameter of a work piece.

    Abstract: Disclosed are prion sensors that may be used as a diagnostic tool to diagnose TSE, or to detect PrPSc molecules, in biological and environmental samples, and methods for using these sensors. The prion sensor may comprise an acoustic sensor, such as a TSM sensor, coated with PrPC molecules, whose resonance characteristics change when contacted with a sample from an animal with TSE, or a sample comprising PrPSc molecules. Alternatively the prion sensor may comprise an optical sensor, such as an SPR sensor, coated with PrPC molecules, whose optical characteristics change when contacted with a sample from an animal with TSE, or a sample comprising PrPSc molecules. These changes provide both rapid detection and a quantitative assay for diagnosing TSE or for detecting PrPSc molecules.

    Abstract: Marking system for a semiconductor wafer to identify problems in mask layers. A method for forming a mask which includes the step of first creating at least one drawing layer that defines changes to the structures to be formed on the surface of a semiconductor substrate at one step in the processing thereof, which step involves the use of a mask. The at least one drawing layer will define a pattern region that will either result in removal of the material from the semiconductor substrate in the defined pattern region, or removal of matter from the semiconductor substrate around the defined pattern region. An indicator area is created in the at least one drawing layer, the indicator area having an indicator region disposed therein that will result in removal of material from around the indicator region regardless of whether the mask is a dark tone mask or a clear tone mask, the indicator region appearing in the negative if the mask is a dark tone mask. A mask is then created from the at least one drawing layer as either a dark tone mask having a transparent region corresponding to the defined pattern region for exposing the underlying substrate if the defined pattern region is associated with a process that results in material being removed from around the defined pattern region, or as a clear tone mask having an occluding region corresponding to the defined pattern region if the defined pattern region is associated with a process that results in material being removed from the defined pattern region.

    Abstract: An electrical contact is provided. An embodiment of the electrical contact includes a bottom member, a pair of side walls and a tongue. The bottom member includes a first portion and a second potion and also defines a horizontal plane. The pair of sides walls extend away from the bottom member. The pair of side walls define an opening therebetween which is located above the second portion of the bottom member. The tongue extends at an angle with respect to the horizontal plane. A wire is insertable into the electrical contact from the first portion of the bottom member and a post or conductor is insertable into the opening.
