摘要: Embodiments of the present invention describe secured fiber-reinforced aerogels and laminate structures formed therefrom. In one embodiment a laminate comprises at least one fiber-reinforced aerogel layer adjacent to at least one layer of fiber containing material wherein fibers from said at least one fiber-reinforced aerogel layer are interlaced with fibers of said at least one fiber-containing material. In another embodiment a laminate comprises at least two adjacent fiber-reinforced aerogel layers wherein fibers from at least one fiber-reinforced aerogel layer are interlaced with fibers of an adjacent fiber-reinforced aerogel layer.

摘要: The laminated product sequentially includes a molded layer made of a cured product of a reinforcing fiber and a first resin composition, and a heat-insulating layer made of an inorganic nonwoven fabric and a second resin composition toward one side in the thickness direction. The first resin composition contains a first thermosetting resin and aluminum hydroxide. The second resin composition contains a second thermosetting resin. The first resin composition and the second resin composition are identical to or different from each other.

摘要: This disclosure describes a reinforced thermosetting resin piping system that is protected from external impact and UV damage by an outer polyurea-based layer. The embodiments described herein can be favorably used for underground and aboveground applications. In some implementations, an RTR pipe includes a core layer that includes a resin and fibers, an outer layer that includes a polyurea-based layer, and an interface layer between the core layer and the outer layer. The methods described herein also outline the process of producing the pipe structure.

摘要: A composite for energy absorbing, non-slip surfaces is disclosed. The composite may be an elastomeric layer deposited and adhered to the surface of a substrate. The substrate may be a polymeric foam, a polyurethane, a closed-cell polyurethane foam or a metal. The elastomeric layer may include a plurality of elastomeric granules, made of a granulated synthetic rubber or more particularly a granulated Ethylene-Propylene-Diene-Monomer. The adhesive used to adhere the elastomeric layer to the substrate may be the same adhesive used to bind the elastomeric granules to one another. In some instances, the composite may include embedded devices or indicia. Composites in accordance with the present disclosure create a safer and more durable surface for marine and construction industries.

摘要: The present invention provides a laminate material having a polyester film and a web of polyester fibers cohesively bonded directly thereto, such that portions of the fibers are bonded to the polyester film and portions of the fibers are free from the polyester film. The invention may also include a glass reinforced polymer layer formed on the laminated facer where the polymer of the glass reinforced polymer layer is commingled with the nonwoven of the laminated facer. The laminate may further include a second polymer layer having a thickness joined to the fiber layer and/or a layer of hot melt adhesive applied to the polyester fibers. Also presented is a composite material having a polyester film, a layer of polyester fibers bonded to the second polymer layer; a second polymer layer joined to the polyester film; and a glass reinforced polymer layer formed on the laminated facer, where the polymer of the class reinforced polymer layer is commingled with the nonwoven of the laminated facer.

摘要: Systems and methods for assembling elongate composite structures are disclosed. The systems include a first rigid elongate cure tool defining a first elongate support surface for supporting a first elongate charge of composite material (FEC), a second rigid elongate cure tool defining a second elongate support surface for supporting a second elongate charge of composite material (SEC), and a flexible elongate caul plate. The systems further include a vacuum compaction film, a translation structure, and a vacuum source. Methods according to the present disclosure include positioning a vacuum compaction film, positioning a flexible elongate caul plate, and positioning an FEC. The methods further include positioning an SEC, contacting a region of the FEC with a region of the SEC, sealing the vacuum compaction film, evacuating the enclosed volume to generate an elongate composite assembly, and heating the elongate composite assembly to define the elongate composite structure.

The rubber component comprising at least a matrix of bonded rubber granules. A bonding material disposed between the facing material and the backing material. The facing material configured to melt at a temperature between 165° F. and 248° F. infiltrating the backing material thereby essentially encasing the rubber granules of the matrix and providing fire retardation and smoke suppression qualities.

摘要: A bonding material is described that is well suited to bonding polymer films, such as polyester films, to other substrates. In one embodiment, for instance, the bonding material can be used to bond a polyester film to a polypropylene article. The bonding material generally comprises an adhesive agent combined with a cross-linking agent. The adhesive agent may comprise a carboxylic acid modified polypropylene homopolymer, copolymer or ionomer. In one embodiment, the adhesive agent comprises a polypropylene modified by an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid anhydride. The cross-linking agent, on the other hand, may comprise an oxazoline polymer.

摘要: A non-wicking underlayment board and methods for forming the same. The non-wicking underlayment board includes a foam core formed of closed cell foam with reinforcement layers encapsulated within the foam core. Outer facings formed of mineral coated nonwoven fibers are positioned on opposite faces of the non-wicking underlayment panel. The non-wicking underlayment board is useful for efficient and cost effective installation of barriers and surfaces in water-resistant and waterproof environments.
