摘要： A liquid crystal display element which is composed of a TN liquid crystal cell containing nematic liquid crystal of positive dielectric anisotropy and an N type dye having the same long molecular axes as the liquid crystal and polarizing plates respectively disposed opposite both side plates of the liquid crystal cell. The polarizing plates each have the direction of polarization substantially parallel to the orientation of molecules of the liquid crystal near the side plate of the liquid crystal which each polarizing plate confronts, and one of the polarizing plates is a color polarizing plate.

摘要： A thermoplastic polymer composition containing (i) a modified block copolymer of an aromatic vinyl compound and a conjugated diene compound, which is modified with a dicarboxylic acid or the derivative thereof, or the ionically crosslinked product of the modified block copolymer with a univalent, bivalent of trivalent metal ion and (ii) a thermoplastic polymer having a polar group. This thermoplastic polymer composition has excellent mechanical and other properties. The compatibility of each component in the thermoplastic composition is remarkably improved.

摘要： A thermosetting unsaturated polyester resin composition comprising (a) an unsaturated polyester, (b) a modified block copolymer comprising a block copolymer of vinyl aromatic compound and conjugated diene compound onto which an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid and/or an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid derivative is grafted, (c) a vinyl monomer, (d) a curing agent and, if necessary, (e) other additives, the amounts of said (a), (b) and (c) constituents being 10 to 90 parts by weight, 2 to 70 parts by weight, and 10 to 80 parts by weight, respectively, the total amount of (a), (b) and (c) being 100 parts by weight, and the proportion of (d) being 0.1 to 10 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the total amount of (a), (b) and (c). The above composition is excellent in impact resistance, surface characteristics and rigidity.

摘要： Polyethylene or copolymers of ethylene with another .alpha.-olefin can be produced by the use of a novel polymerization catalyst obtained by using, in combination, (A) a specified, hydrocarbon-insoluble solid component prepared by reacting (i) a specific, hydrocarbon-soluble organoaluminum-magnesium complex (Al.sub.n Mg.sub.m R.sub.n(3.sub.-.sub..alpha.).sup.1 -R.sub.2m.sup.2 H.sub.n, wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are hydrocarbon radicals) with (ii) a titanium or vanadium compound containing halogen atom(s), and (B) an organoaluminum compound. This catalyst exhibits a surprisingly high activity per the unit amount of the solid component.

摘要： A process for polymerizing ethylene or a mixture of ethylene and another olefin is proposed in which the polymerization can be carried out with an extremely high efficiency by using a catalyst prepared by reacting (A) a hydrocarbon-insoluble reaction product (obtained by reacting (i) a specified organomagnesium-containing hydrocarbon-soluble complex, or reaction product of (i), with (ii) a specified siloxane compound and with (iii) at least one kind of titanium or vanadium compound containing at least one halogen atom), with (B) a specified organoaluminum compound. Resultant polymers have a high molecular weight and a high rigidity and molecular weight and molecular weight distribution thereof can be easily controlled.

摘要： This disclosure relates to a punching apparatus for perforating sheet metal or the like, comprising a tool holder having a body portion which includes upper and lower arms extending horizontally from the body portion in vertically spaced alignment from one another to form a throat into which sheet material to be punched may be positioned. Each of the upper and lower arms includes a plurality of spaced bores of different diameters, each of which is vertically aligned with a corresponding bore in the opposite arm. The bores in the upper arm are adapted to receive a plurality of punches of different diameters, while the lower bores are adapted to receive a plurality of dies of different diameters for operatively receiving a corresponding punch during a punching operation. The tool holder is slidably mounted in a work table disposed beneath a vertically movable ram of the apparatus, whereby corresponding ones of punches and dies may be selectively operatively positioned beneath the ram to punch holes of varying diameters.
